- Success: Chase is Matching the $500 Business Checking Bonus but There’s a Catch! (Also How to Get Your $500 Bonus) by Miles to Memories. We’ve had success with matching before, but good to know they will match this specific offer.
- $20 Off Your First Recharge Hotel Stay Booking (Think: Hyatt Regency San Francisco) by Magic of Miles. This app lets you book rooms by the minute, novel concept but at $40 per hour this is a pass for me. Hotels are really wanting to monetize more of their rooms, more often. That’s why we are seeing apps like this and also apps for day rooms. I think the day room approach has a better chance of succeeding, but we’ll see.
- Introducing the MPD Gift Card tab and other misc news by Miles Per Day. There is a lot of synergy between resellers and people purchasing gift cards at a discount for resell, but I think the aspect of fraud makes this too difficult to actually work as it scales (that’s why all the gift card exchanges are so terrible for the most part). I have a neat idea for an app, so maybe I’ll try and get that developed.
- Uber Offers 50% Off Rides for Copa America Soccer Matches Across US Point Me To The Plane. Nice discount if you’re going to any of these matches.
- The Supreme Court’s 10th Justice Can’t Handle His Credit Cards by View From The Wing. Make sure you can properly handle your credit cards before getting into this hobby, it’s very easy to get sucked into a black hole of credit card debt.
I came across a post of yours from LAST YEAR about the shopping cart trick and just wanted you and your readers to know, of the 3 I tried, 2 worked flawlessly!! Victorias Secret ($250) and Wayfair ($2,000). It was so easy and I didn’t have to get further than entering my ship to address before it even asked for payment info. On both, I simply closed out afterward and didn’t charge anything. I received almost instant emails welcoming me to my new credit cards.(I bet if I had put more pricey merchandise in the VS cart, the CL would’ve been higher)
I did also try Dillards. When it didn’t give me a pop up, I did some investigating. It now says you have to go to a lengthy application page if you want their credit.
I have a friend at work with a bad past and is trying to build credit but is hitting a wall. I thought if this works, I’d pass along the info. It does – so I have! Nice to not worry about a Hard Inquiry to one’s credit report!
Thank you for your articles… very insightful.
Get that app going!
Haha, I’ll tell you about it on Twitter.
