U.S Bank has a credit card called the Cash+ credit card, this card let’s you choose two 5% cash back categories. It also has another nice benefit where if you redeem $100 or more in cash back you will get a $25 bonus. This benefit used to be per calendar year, but U.S Bank is changing this bonus to once per lifetime starting on April 1st, 2015.
Beginning April 1, 2015, the $25 Cash+ Bonus you receive when you redeem cash rewards for $100 or more in a single redemption will now be limited to one per the lifetime of the account. Currently, the $25 Cash+ Bonus has a limit of one per calendar year.
Because this change doesn’t take effect until April 1, in 2015 you may receive up to two bonuses:
- One $25 Cash+ Bonus when you redeem your cash for $100 or more in a single redemption BEFORE April 1, 2015 and
- One $25 Cash+ Bonus when you redeem your cash for $100 or more in a single redemption ON OR AFTER April 1, 2015.
This means if you redeem $100 before April 1st this year, you’ll be able to get the bonus one last time before it’s discontinued. So if you have $100+ sitting in your U.S Bank Cash+ card, redeem it now.
I’ve posted this reminder nice early so you have enough time to redeem before the deadline. It’s a shame that U.S bank seems settled on destroying this card, but it must be loosing too much money for them to continue. If you’re still interested in this card, it is available for online applications now.
Thanks for the reminder, Will. I had about $200 in cashback and redeemed the entire amount last month (and received the $25 as well as a prepaid card). I plan on maximizing second quarter cashback bonus. So, if I redeem, let’s say, In May, will I get an additional $25? Thanks in advance
