Our Verdict
In theory the cash back on this is a pretty nice deal, but only if you can use up the Bonus Cash at decent value, e.g. if you have prescriptions you can buy with them or other items which are reasonably priced.
Thinking of getting one of this with a newly opened CIP and AmEx Hilton Aspire to help me towards MSR,
Any risk here?
Drop earns pts at Rite Aide. Stacking is a thing of beauty!! 1 John 4: 7-8
I still have Chase Offers for 5% at Rite Aid to make this deal even better. Check yours!
For a big $2. If you’re lucky, you have 10% for $4.
$2 is $2
Presumably it’s possible to use these deals to roll bonus cash and keep balances alive. Plus Chase has been offering deal cashback at Rite-Aid, although the fine print excludes gift cards, it may activate anyway or at worst, the deal would be usable at the same time as a Bonus Cash redemption..
Does the Bonus Cash work to buy gift cards with?
No you can’t use bonus cash to purchase gift cards. BUT, you can use bonus cash while meeting another bonus cash threshold. So, ideally, you want to get $200 worth of these gift cards one day and then go back later to use the bonus cash on other items that offer bonus cash. In particular, this week’s ad has lots of items that are “spend $45 get $15 in bonus cash” (there paper towel, toilet paper, ice cream, candy, chips, cereal). So you can use your $40 bonus cash from the gift cards to purchase $45 worth of items identified within the circular (paying $5 out of pocket) and then you’ll get another $15 bonus cash to use later. The one annoying thing is that you always have to wait until the next day (6 am) to use any bonus cash you’ve earned.
No this won’t roll and keep balances alive (extending the expiration, if that’s what you mean). Any bonus cash that is earned expires after 30 days. In particular, your single pool of bonus cash might have varying amounts with different expiration dates, assuming that you earned the bonus cash on different dates.
