American Express is planning to refresh the Platinum cards, currently not much is known about the refresh. According to one source the physical card will have a mirror finish with prototypes already being created.

Except to pay for the guest fee at a Centurion Lounge you need the physical Platinum card and cannot even use digital payment (even though the machine can obviously take it).
I don’t see that at all. Sure many chain restaurants, supermarkets take Apple Pay. I do not see the huge expansion that makes cards not needed. I wish this was the case. Outside the US less acceptance. What gas pumps take Apple Pay?
