Multiple rumors are coming out which point to a refresh of the Chase Ritz-Carlton card. The rumor has it that these changes will take effect on August 1, 2025. It’s likely that existing cardholders will keep the older card details for some time beyond August.
Changes:
- Annual fee to increasing from $450 to $695
- $200 renowned resort reservation credit
-
Three Ritz-Carlton bar vouchers
Unchanged:
- $300 airline incidental credit
- 85k annual FNC unchanged
- Unlimited priority pass for authorized user cards
- Marriott Gold Elite Status
- Car rental insurance and travel protections stay the same
Overall this sounds like a big negative change if we have all the details. It’s possible there are more benefits or coupons that we haven’t heard yet about. Again, at this point it’s a all just rumors.
A Chase customer service rep confirmed it to me.
If you doubt it, just call the number on the back of your card. It’s that simple.
Many YouTubers I follow always keep telling how precious their Ritz Carlton card and US BAR are.
You can thank them for many of the negative changes we’re seeing.
But by all means, keep following their dumb channels … SMH

NOOOOOOOOOOO
An extra MR certificate, even 15-20k, would make much more sense, but Chase isn’t about what makes sense. RC gives you access to Chase lounges, so since I canceled my Reserve a few months ago, I’d still have to keep the RC card.
An unlimited number of PP guests is also beneficial, but less so when the card is used to provide restaurant access.
exempt from 5/24
I don’t understand why Marriott (or any hotel chain) would allow an unrelated hotel benefit into one of its cobranded cards. Also, this card is unavailable to new sign-ups, so there is no marketing associated with it. An annual fee bump to keep up with other cards, sure, but why make any change in benefits (other than maybe the drink vouchers to make you feel like you got something for the additional annual fee)?
This rumor makes no sense.
I don’t understand the annual fee bump for a card that’s not available. Leave it the fcuk alone.
maybe it’s a money loser. THey want to encourage people to get off
Problem is this becomes the cheapest way (by far) to access the Chase Sapphire Lounges now that the CSR has gone to $795, so Chase probably wanted to narrow the gap
That what Chase was doing all those years for all its legacy cards not available for new sign ups.. but at this point Ritz is absolutely a huge money looser. It is too overpowerd in terms of what it offers. But 695 would be a huge hit. I could see 550, but 695 would be tough to swallow unless you are utilizing the benefits on a commercial scale.
> I don’t understand why Marriott (or any hotel chain) would allow an unrelated hotel benefit
Well, I doubt Marriott cares about any of this.
LOL. I was about to apply the Marriott card to upgrade to RC but surely not anymore.
I mean, you should do it right now, so you get at least a year and possibly two at the current rate!
It’ll take him a year to switch. He’s not getting the current rate whatsoever at that point.
Ahhhh, misunderstood “about to apply the Marriott card”.
$200 will be split to two redemptions per year, one every 6 months.
$100 x 2? That would suck!
