Our Verdict

None of the brands are that useful I don’t think. Will be interesting to see what happens with this line of cards and discounts being offered going into the busy shopping season. As always make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.

I purchased Happy Guy as a test yesterday morning, used it last night at HD, no issues. This morning I purchased more, and tried to use it 30 minutes later, no go. Do these cards take some time to activate?

PSA: these cards are 100% exposed in the wild. all cc numbers, exp date and cvv code are all clearly shown with no cover. mag stripe just hanging there. wow. WTF. I pass on this.

They can’t be used online, except Happy Guy, which is said that can be used at dell.com.

Can these coupons be redeemed at Acme supermarkets or only at Sawefay?

Doc, I am in the business… we are putting Bride, Her, Student, and Beauty into Safeway this month. Looks like this sale is to make some room. I don’t think Her is in your dedicated post. Her is Godiva, PF Changs, Peet’s, Under Amour, Express and Ulta.

well if ur in the business, then tell us if these cards can be compromised from the inside via copying or running algos to brute force. have u seen these drained by criminals like Mastercards at office depot? do u guys run background checks on ur delivery runners?

Any DP on if these would work for Amex MSR? In another word, are these treated by Amex as merchant gift cards or prepaid cards? On one hand these can only be used in a limited number of stores; however, they are treated and swiped as credit cards at the respective stores that they can be used at.

Hmm not sure what is MSR but these gift cards code as grocery spend for AMEX Blue Cash Preferred at my local Safeways.

Yeah I know they would definitely code as grocery but am just unsure if Amex would treat them as prepaid card/cash equivalent. Need to meet 100,000 MSR and with the promotion “Happy Guy” and “Happy Lady” look kind of promising *ahem*…Anyways not going to risk it with Amex. Going to stick with organic spending.

MyMixx (Jewel) is dollar off so only can achieve those percentages when buying only $50. For example, $5 off $50+ for Happy Dining, $7.50 pff $50+ for Happy Bites.

I’ll probably grab the $7.50 off ones for Panera. Still on a year free for BCP so 6% off on top of that. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw this in my account this morning and debated telling you. But, in general, I don’t like being restricted to a few vendors where I only occasionally shop. I advise people to jump on this offer if a favorite place is listed. Otherwise, I feel the % discount isn’t high enough as an incentive.

I didn’t see any of these giftcards that work at Von’s. Typo in the title?

Oops. That warrants a new pair of glasses for myself.
