Our Verdict
This would stack well with the $25 off $250 Amex Offer deal if you can meet the $250 threshold, but I don’t know it’ll trigger the credit since today is the final day of that deal and it takes time for the charge to settle. If anyone tries this out and can get back to us later about whether it worked, I’d be interested in hearing.

Looks like the charges for the items to pickup in store were placed immediately on the 12/31 to the Amex card while the charges for the items that were shipped showed up on 1/2. The Amex offer shows expired. I called Amex and they manually applied the credits for two cards after waiting on hold for about 20 minutes.
Too bad this isn’t in-store … or you could stack 5% chase pay (mobile wallet) with this!

Just hand your bills to the girl at the register. She’ll take them. Easy-peasy, no fuss, no mess, nothing even to sign! To get the most cash back, just give her the biggest bill in your wallet!
It is still applicable bought $300 Shell GC and $30 BB GC. Used my amex that triggered $25 credit.
i dont think the gas deal is good..
in NJ at least – these gas stations sell gas at 13% higher cost.. $2.63 vs $2.34

Unless you got T-Mobile Tuesdays. We have seen quite frequently the Shell Fuel Rewards. That is what I purchased though it is higher. TT provides code for 25 cents off which makes the price of the gas comparable.
If you have and used Amex sync, then this is 20% off; if not sure 10% off is not a good deal.
With Shell FR and 20% off GC it certainly beats the lowest even Costco and BJs pricing in NJ. Beats having to wait in line and/or driving longer distance for Costco. Several Shell/Exxon stations all around.
So yes this deal is good with Amex offer stacked.
BTW this works in store also. I did 2 transaction online, went to store and did 3 splitting one across 2 Amexs totalling $500, triggering Amex 25/250 on both cards. In store you can use BB GC to do one more of this Gas cards deal which I will do tomorrow.
The deal is good in New Jersey, since gas stations in NJ accept gift cards. Just might not be a “good deal” in NJ for you.
Can you buy a third party GC using a bestbuy GC? Else I am not sure how to use them.
I tried, but no way to enter a BB GC.
I am pretty sure you can use them in Best Buy to actually buy stuff. Not so difficult.
In store you can but not online.
Thank you I just ran out of extra gas, I just did this offer and got the “you just used your amex offer” email as well. 35 dollars off in total makes this a 14% savings which is really good.
I placed 3 separate orders and got email from Amex for cash back. So getting $300 worth of gas for $245

I just placed an order and I didn’t receive the “you just used your amex offer”. I chose to ship it since one of the GCs was in stock in store and the other one was not. Maybe only pickup in store today will trigger it.
Another data point. I was filling up on the 10 off 25 exxon amex deal and I got the “you just used your amex offer” when the pump was only at $9. I filled it up to $25 anyways.
That once happened to me with gas, but no credit came. Need to hit minimum to get credit; emails are vary.
I chose to ship my cards and got the amex email.
Gas stations pre-authorize CC for a fixed amount when you swipe (usually $85 for me).
Eventually they’ll submit the charge for the actual purchase, and not necessarily dated when you pumped.
I tried this earlier today and got the “you just used your amex offer” email. So, I think it worked.
There are two amex offers. $25 back for $250 and 2x MR points. It could be you triggered the latter.
