Shop Your Way Rewards Points Can Now Be Used For Third Party Giftcards

Update 12/26/20: Apple & Walmart cards available again. Hat tip to FM

Update 11/11/20: looks like this might be available to everybody now (no $10 bonus sadly unless you were targeted for that before). Hat tip to reader JohnnybGood

Update 9/3/20: More people have received the targeted e-mail for the 10,000 points. Subject line this time is ‘A surprise gift for you’.

Shop Your Way Rewards has partnered with Raise and you can now use your SYWR points for third party gift cards. It looks like the gift cards are new rather than being second hand. Some SYWR members have also received an e-mail (subject line ‘Introducing Shop Your Way Gift Cards powered by Raise’) giving them enough points for a $10 gift card (10,000 points). Points are worth 0.1¢ when redeeming for gift cards.

You can get an Amazon eGC for any exact amount (well $1 min but $0.01 increments above that), so you can cash out all points.

I figure this gives you face value of the points minus 5% (since you probably could have got 5% CB at Amazon using some CC with 5% CB) but it’s a quick/easy way to get most of the value.

Purchased a $60 walMart gift card on 12/25. Found out it has been drained to $0 today.

So glad for this as kmarts site is trash and the inventory is so poor. Also they don’t let you redeem for anything. Everything is so restricted- no household goods no groceries no clearance no everyday value. That along with the very poor website organization made it impossible to get rid of the points.

If you go in-store you can still use it on most things including grocery. Haven’t been to a Kmart in months though. Dumb how online orders are so restrictive, even if you’re doing store pickup iirc. The inventory online is a mess and usually doesn’t represent what’s in the store either.

Got the $10 gift card! Didn’t even know SYW was still around until I received the email.

I’m not seeing this option – is this on the Citi SYW card website or on the SYW site that it directs you to after clicking redeem?

The syw website when you click redeem. Than just search gift card it should direct you to “raise gift cards” it’s the partnership they have for this.

Now the SYW version of the card could potentially be better than the TY version.

A $500 gc would take $10,000 in gas spend or $16,667 in grocery spend on SYW.

That equivalent would get you 10,000 or 16,667 TY points respectively.

A $500 gc is worth much more than those pools of TY points.

But what about the promos? A 10%/10X promo on $10,000 spend would tack on an additional $1,000 cash or 100,000 TY points.

Is $1,000+$500gc > 110,000TYP?

The bigger the promo, the better TYPs look.

Al lot of the popular gift cards are gone, but now you can use Sears CC SYW points which you couldn’t before. You can also split points/cash. Tried a $20 game stop and it was letting me pay with10470 points + $9.53 cash. Which means it’ll be easier to completely cash out points at least

I just redeemed $500 worth of home depot gift card, and sold it for $450 amazon gift card on another gift card purchasing website. You may not get 1:1 on something you’d use but I can’t think of another way of using my points since kmart/sears are nearly dead now days.
