[Dead] Small Luxury Hotels Inspired Status (Midrange) For American Express Cardholders (Free Night?)

Update: Looks to be dead now, you get redirected to the home page.

Update: We’re reposting because reader Abey points out the free birthday gift is a free night certificate. The fine print states this isn’t available for people who got status through things like this partnership but then reader Qdizzle informs us that even with no prior stays they were able to get a free night certificate. Definitely at least worth trying.

Hyatt announced yesterday that you’d be able to earn and redeem points at Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) of the World properties. Hyatt status won’t be recognized at these properties. American Express cardholders are eligible to get free ‘Inspired’ status for SLH’s loyalty program. Inspire is SLH’s mid range tier (three tiers in total). This entitles you to:

  • Member Exclusive Rate
  • Early Check-In (Noon, based upon availability at booking and check in)
  • Late Check Out (3pm, based on availability at check in)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Daily complimentary breakfast for two
  • Member Exclusive Promotions
  • Birthday Gift
  • Room Upgrade (one category at check in if available)

Keep in mind you’re supposed to get the above benefits if you book directly and the Hyatt announcement made mention of needing to book through Hyatt’s booking platform so it remains to be seen if you will actually be eligible for the above benefits when trying to earn Hyatt points. Anybody have any idea what the birthday gift is?

I was already a member of slh, and when I went through the Invited link logged in and it shows the new benefits.

Signed up for SLH Inspired status through Amex link, Birthday gift doesn’t show in my benefits (Rest of the benefits do show up). Possibly dead.

Same here. Weird that there is no requirement to link any amex card. Also clicked the link on Invited website to email me my Inspired benefits and they aren’t listed there, either.

It appears that any Amex card would work to get you ‘Inspired’ status. Is that correct? (I don’t have a Hyatt card.)

I just signed up through the link, it never asked for any Amex card info and I still got the status.

Is there any sort of vague timeline as to when these will be bookable with Hyatt points?

I dont get it, you dont even have to validate your american express status. so its just free mid level tier for everyone

if I can redeem Hyatt points, even at the 25K+ level for some of them, this will become the primary hotel program for me
