SoftServe Reportedly No Longer Available for Signup

New SoftServe Accounts

We reported that Softcard will be shutting down at the end of March. Once Softcard ceases to exist, it obviously won’t be possible to open a new Serve account with the enhanced SoftServe benefits.

We mentioned last week that there were still recent reports of people being able to open SoftServe accounts. We’ve now come across one Reddit member who was not able to open a Softcard account. The Serve CSR said that the issue is that Serve accounts can no longer be opened through the Softcard app.

It would appear that opening a new SoftServe account is no longer possible. If anyone had recent success with opening a Serve account through the Softcard app, please let us know and we’ll update the post.

[UPDATE: Reader Nathan says that he was able to sign up for a Serve account through the Softcard app on 2/8.]

Old SoftServe Accounts

We’ve written previously that old SoftServe accounts will maintain their enhanced load limits of $1500 in credit card loads and $1500 in debit card loads, versus the standard $1000 limit. This is apparent from the email which was sent out from Serve which stated that there won’t be any changes to Serve accounts.

In the above-mentioned Reddit narrative, the CSR claimed that the enhanced load limits will stop due to the closure of Softcard. For now I’m assuming that this was just an error on the part of the CSR, since the Serve email was pretty clear that there wouldn’t be any changes.
