[Source] All U.S. Bank Flexperks Cards To Be Discontinued By March 30, Includes Business Cards

Update 3/23/20: Effective 3/30/20, Business Flexperks and Business Select Rewards are discontinued as well. No replacements are known, as of yet. Again, existing customers should see no change and will continue to be serviced.

Original Post:

A source tells us that a memo was sent out to US Bank employees with the information that all three US Bank Flexperks cards will be discontinued for new applications on March 9, 2020. Existing cardholders will see no changes, and will continue to be serviced.

Effective March 9th, U.S. Bank will no longer accept applications for:
  1. U.S. Bank Flexperks Travel Visa (Consumer).
  2. U.S. Bank Flexperks Select+ American Express.
  3. The Gold Flexperks will apparently be staying around for a bit longer.
  4. The U.S. Bank Cash 365 American Express will be discontinued as well.

Currently, these cards are still available for signup.

The information in this post has not been confirmed with US Bank, but the source seems reliable.

When will Gold Flexperks go away? It may be an obstacle to Altitude Connect launching since they are similar.

Flexperks Amex is still available for application, and my existing card is still showing in my login.

But the travel portal seems to be gone: “We apologize for the inconvenience. The travel site is currently unavailable as we’re taking steps to improve your experience. Please try again later.” All other FlexPoints redemptions are available, including cashout 1FP=1c.

Was doing google searches and came across this somehow:

Enjoy the power of US BANK Platinum.
For a limited time, get a special 0% introductory APR* on purchases and balance transfers for 20 billing cycles. Fee: 3%. After that the APR is variable, currently 13.99%–23.99%.

Plus there’s no annual fee!

I know the purists will recoil but others might see this as a benefit, so I offer it for this reason:

TWENTY MONTH bonus term to start at 0%.

Full disclosure: I don’t bank at US Bank and don’t think I ever have.

I have the Flexperks Travel Visa. I have had it less than a year and is almost due for the AF. Would I be better to product change to something else? If so, what? Or, with such a young age, would it be better to just drop the card before the fee hits?

I just got approved for the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Business Travel Rewards card. So I will assume that one is not closing

actually it is a good move for them to cancel all except the gold. the other ones are useless and worthless really. Only the gold might have some merit

does anyone on here who has a flex card, are the rewards redeemable via text messaging like the altitude reserve? also, are they worth 1.5x when points are redeemed for travel?? and lastly can the flexpoints be transferred to the altitude card??

Just checked USB CC site, and those three
“U.S. Bank Flexperks Travel Visa (Consumer).
U.S. Bank Flexperks Select+ American Express.
The U.S. Bank Cash 365 American Express will be discontinued as well”
are indeed gone.

while
“The Gold Flexperks will apparently be staying around for a bit longer.”
is still there.
