Sprint announced a few days ago a partnership with Hulu to give all Sprint Unlimited users free Hulu Limited Commercials subscription. The deal went live today, November 17, 2017.
A regular Hulu with Commercials plan is $7.99/month, a nice savings for Sprint customers. Tmobile has a similar offering of free Netflix for Unlimited customers, and AT&T offers free HBO for unlimited customers. Your move Verizon.
Signup for this offer ends December 8, 2017, do this now if you’re eligible. Tmobile/ATT offer Netflix/HBO as a continuous part of the plan, it’s surprising Sprint is making this a temporary enrollment deal. Most likely they’re doing it as a test with the hopes of rolling this out as a permanent benefit after that date.
The Fine Print
- Reqs qualifying Sprint service plan and registration of Hulu account from Sprint phone while on the Sprint network at hulu.com/sprint
- Includes access to one Hulu Limited Commercials plan per each eligible Sprint account (excludes other Hulu plans and add-ons) while eligible Sprint plan is active and in good standing
- Tablets may stream Hulu content via included Sprint Hot Spot or may subscribe to separate unlimited data plan for tablets
- For phones and tablets on a metered plan streaming will pull from monthly allotment
- New or returning Hulu subscribers only. Valid also for existing Hulu-billed Limited Commercials plan subscribers (no third-party billed subscribers or premium add-on subscribers); no prorated credit or refund for current Hulu billing month, and remaining credit balances will be forfeited.
- Excludes CL accounts
- Not redeemable or refundable for cash or gift subscriptions
- Hulu may place account on inactivity hold based on Hulu usage
- Hulu offer made available by Sprint and may be modified or terminated at any time without notice
- Slickdeals is saying that BYOD plans (including the free-year deal) are excluded.
Overall, this deal seems much more restricted and limited compared to Tmobile and ATT’s offerings. It’ll be intersting to see how it develops.
Oddly, it’s actually profitable to signup for Hulu now on a paid subscription due to Amex and Swagbucks, some might not want to get free Hulu currently.
Signed up a couple days ago on my iPhone. Got Hulu app on the phone to register account. Confirmed on my Sprint account that the Hulu service line item on bill is $0.00. Thanks DOC.
I recently added free Hulu on my niece’s iPhone whose line is on my Sprint account. You can add free Hulu on up to four devices that are all under the same qualifying unlimited Sprint plan.
Worked on my Sero Premium 500 plan. (Why am I not surprised that some of the first comments on DoC about this are others who are still grandfathered in to Sprint SERO? lol This is totally where we belong!) I also went ahead and added the 6 month trial Membership to TIDAL HiFi that DoC mentioned Best Buy is giving away, so I saved a buck there. Confirmed that BYOD and the free year customer can’t use this deal. Kudos to the client who tried to figure out why for the last 30 minutes though.
Yeah it gave me the option to add Hulu online but would never process.
I’m a BYOD free year customer and the chat rep told me I’d be eligible beginning 12/8/17 (used chat because adding Hulu would never process – same experience as mcafeeee)
Thanks, DoC – signed up as my subscription w/ the Amex offer recently ended (only had it on one card). It worked for SERO. I went to sign up for another sprint biz account (didn’t know what CL was) and the page kept refreshing, so looks like personal only.
Must link to a SPRINT cell phone with Unlimited Plan. After link is successful, you may use that created Hulu account on your smart TV or tablet. Now that the account is set up, I can use my WiFi to watch.
I used the MySprint account Chat feature on my PC. Sprint Chat member helped me get signed up. After Sprint linked Hulu account is created, I had to disable my WiFi to force Sprint LTE usage on the chosen cell phone, I had to add the HULU app to complete the new account sign up.
I would expect Hulu to get upset if all five cell phones are using HULU at the same time
