Our Verdict
These gift cards work at a wide variety of stores. 10% off + 5x with INK Plus/Cash is quite a good deal, just in time for the busy shopping season.

Still live, I’m an idiot
I just blame it on Monday.
Happy Guy cards can be used at Autozone too which sell variable load VVGCs, but it seems not all locations stock them.
Anyone know if I can use the Happy Lady (or any with BB&B) at buybuyBaby?
I tried one with buybuyBaby (no explicit BB&B) at BB&B and it worked.
Anyone know what denomination they carry at Staples (in store)?
I only saw $25 at my store when I looked yesterday. Hopefully they have variables somewhere.
Same here – only $25s in the Burke Staples (Northern VA). Has anyone found variables?
Link is to this week’s ad.
Will it be an online or in-store offer, or both?
That’s what i was trying to find out so i clicked on the link, but only to see it was this week’s ad.
Today is 11/18 but I don’t see a discount on the website.
Anyone know if these can be used to purchase third party gift cards (e.g., at Home Depot or BBB)? I don’t see why they wouldn’t, but wanted to check if anyone has firsthand experience.
Thanks!
I’ve used them to buy third party gift cards and even VGCs at home depot. No idea if they work at BBB.
Happy also work at BBB for visa/mc , ymmv if cashier asks to see card you’re paying with
Only Happy Guy can be used at home depot.
I used them to buy 3rd party gift cards at both BB&B and Home Depot. They work at both places. I don’t go out of my way to show how I’m paying. I just cover up the front of the card and swipe it quickly without showing it to the cashier. You can buy 3rd party gift cards at Home Depot at the self-checkout.
The self checkouts at the Home Depot in my area will call for the attendant when you use a Happy Guy card to buy a third party card. They still allow the sale, but they have to enter a code to continue with the sale.
I just used a $50 one at Panera to buy gift cards to take advantage of their buy $50 get $10 promo card.
It depends on the amount of the cards sold at staples. If they are $25 cards, no thanks. I’m in for variables up to $500.
What do you do with that many gift cards
strip club.
Like your comments.
I checked today it is all 25 value
This will be great with my CIC. And to buy the ones for Bed Bath and use at their store to buy Disney gc’s…Happy happy happy
why people buy disney gc? will they offen go to disney? why not buy ebay gc?
Yes…luv the happiest place on earth…
Sorry if a stupid question… do these cards carry a Visa logo or how are they branded?
Thanks.
these are visa metabank non-debit limited via MCC with all the key numbers written on the back such as CC number, exp date, and CVV since its exposed packaging. so go ahead and take pictures of a few and when someone else buys it during this promo, register it online and go shopping for free, paid by someone else during black friday.
youre welcome.
That’s not why I was asking… I was curious if the card has a Visa logo it could be used to buy gift cards at BBB for example?
its a visa credit card but its marketed like a merchant gift card even though its not. when you go inside a staples, u will know what im talking about. just look on the back. no visa logo in the front but its a visa. yes, you can buy GC with GC if the cashier lets you.
1) can’t use them online aside from Dell and 2) You’ve made it clear in ever Happy gift card thread that you find these unsecured.
I wonder at what point will you stop repeating this comment?
Can you also stop recommending people to commit fraud or is that too much to ask?
Maybe the moderators should ban this user/comment, as their blog is being used to disclose techniques to commit fraud.
Luis, I understand your concern about fraud. However, Ninja isn’t really recommending fraud. He’s sarcastically warning purchasers of the risk of these specific cards. Last month I saw a similar comment by NinjaX. It was written as a straight forward warning. Unlike most gift cards, all the numbers that are needed to claim the funds from these cards are visible. A crook can snap photos of these cards, wait for the card to be activated when somone else buys the cards, then drain the funds. The buyer is left with a depleted card. This is an old, well known scam. This is why packaging was updated on gift cards years ago to cover that info.
In this case, he’s repeating the same warning, but using sarcasm.
Yes, appreciate Ninja’s warning, even wrapped with *tic. If nothing else, the message here is test your HC balance day you buy it, then use it quick. Yet I’m wondering if all the Happy Card packaging is as “exposed” as warned here. Last week, I purchased a “Happy Guy” from Amazon, and the apparent card ID and other security info was hidden underneath the flap…. Will check the staples stock today too….
PS… I also had no trouble using my “happy guy card” yesterday to buy a HD gc. 🙂
Can I use the exact amount of my Happy gift card? For example, I have a Happy Bites with $50 on it. Can I buy a $50 gift card at Panera and swipe it? I don’t want to go through the blank looks of a cashier if I have to explain anything about it? TIA
