Our Verdict
I actually like some of these plant based meats. This is a good chance to try them/this brand if you haven’t already. You can view more free food deals by clicking here.
Impossible Foods’ CEO said he’s concerned potential customers will try other plant-based meats, be disappointed, and never try Impossible Meats. I haven’t tried Sweet Earth yet, but can confirm that Beyond Meats, the Kroger brand, and the Publix brand are not in the same league as Impossible. You might like them, you might not, but they don’t really taste like meat (Impossible does).
Well said, I agree that they’re all different. However, note that beyond has two versions – one that’s sold to high end restaurants and the other that’s sold to fast food chains. I don’t know which one of those is sold in the super market.
I wanted to give the product a try. After clicking through the twitter link and entering my info Saturday night 5/30 –
“Thank You!
Your submission has been received. Coupons will be
mailed within the next few weeks. Look out for it in the mail!”
I tried this when it was FAR via Ibotta a few months back. (Full disclosure– I am a devout carnivore.) This stuff was the most disgusting food product I could have imagined. It smelled and tasted like melted plastic. I had to spit out first and only bite, and the rest went into the trash, which I then took to the outside bin to try and fend off the aroma. Good luck to you all.
Right there with you. The smell was the worst, taste a close second.
Exact same experience, the smell and taste was exactly like playdoh. I’ve had my share of plant based meats and this is NOT the one to go for.
Not a fan of their stuff but free is good. However, the offer said it expired on 5/29 (yesterday), although my request was accepted.
Doubt it, looks like DOC is a day late and a dollar short on this one.
