Swych App Closing Down On July 31st

We’ve posted numerous gift card deals from Swych in the past. They sent out an email today that the app is closing down for good on July 31, 2020.

Importantly, the app will then stop functioning entirely, so if you have any unused gift cards and haven’t yet saved the gift codes elsewhere, be sure to export the data elsewhere.

As a user of the Swych mobile app, we are reaching out to let you know that on July 31st, 2020, the Swych mobile app will be disabled and no longer supported. This means that you will no longer be able to access the cards you may have stored in the app.
Prior to July 31st, 2020, we recommend that you log into Swych to retrieve all of your card data and store it safely so that the data is available for redemption. You can securely store your gift cards in your Apple Wallet directly from the Swych app or take a screenshot of the card details for future redemption.
Thank you for supporting Swych. We have appreciated your business. Should you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Also, check if you have any Swych points from referrals or other deals which you can redeem for a free gift card.

Well, I mean, you don’t lose 8% GPD in a quarter and not have companies throw their hands up..

Android users – are you seeing “Google Pay is not available” when trying to purchase (to use up any remaining points!), and with no other alternate payment methods available?

Is that an android issue? My both androids have this issue

I had this issue also, but there is a place to choose how many points you want to redeem. I had 1500 points ordered a $15 chipotle gift card, chose max points.

Thank you! $25 I had no idea existed.

I assume you don’t have enough points to cover your purchase? I made that mistake when I redeemed for a smaller amount card and then tried to use the remaining points plus cash. They have shutdown all payment methods at this point and you can only redeem at the bare minimum of 1,000 points. Bad way to end things but I guess they don’t care at this point.

I found 500 points on my account, but no apparent way to spend the $5. (with $10 apparently being the minimum?) Sour grapes indeed.

Fluz sent out an e-mail to its customers about investing in their product recently. This is a good reminder.

Check the app to see if you have any Swych Points. I had 3000 points, that I then redeemed for a $30 gift card. (I didn’t even know that I had any points until today; I think they came from referrals.)

They mostly only had deals on Lowes gift cards anyway.

Bummer. All the good gift card apps are going away. I use a spreadsheet now for tracking, but I do miss apps like Slide that would update your balances for you.

Well that sucks, I primarily use Samsung Pay to store my GC since you get updated balances but you refresh to check the current GC bal.

Main reason I’ve used Swych is that I can’t load some GC in S-Pay i.e. HOTELS.COM, Delta, SW, etc But You have to update balance manually an know current balance to update.

S-Pay does offer a work around and use can tap to pay with a barcode (from number) – You just have to load as a membership card (card not listed option). You can load your DL, passport card, Auto Insurance, other membership cards.

Check GooglePay, some GCs that cannot be loaded into SP work in that.

Yet to find something that loads Wholefoods.

G-Pay is a hot mess – all Hotel/Airline/Store loyalty cards are auto-added from Gmail. So GC and loyalty cards, etc are all mixed together – also preferred Swych GC images over G-Pay random images/logos and color palette for card representation.

Google is turning in to Microsoft in both have failed trying to copy phones or Google+ social media, etc.

Bummer! Swych app was my method of adding all my gift cards to Apple Wallet. Does anyone have a better/alternative way of adding gift cards to Apple Wallet? I know Gyft can add to Apple Wallet as well
