TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go: 50% Off Award Flights [Correction, We Were Wrong]

Correction: We incorrectly stated you could fly business class on way to Portugal from North America for 25,000 miles. This was based on deducting 50% off the price listed in the linked award chart, it turns out that award chart already showed the discounted prices. This is confirmed when using the book with miles tool, business class one way to Portugal shows a pricing of 100,000 miles. We’d like to apologize for this mistake, in future we will be more careful when discussing programs we are not familiar with.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go is offering 50% off all award flights. Discount is on the high season prices [award chart here. This includes the 50% discount]

The Fine Print

  • Valid for trips taken in February and March, except 22 February to 11 March

Our Verdict

Looks like you can do one way business class from North America to Portugal for 25,000 miles, or economy for 13,000 miles 50,000 miles or economy for 26,000 miles. Problem is getting the miles, TAP isn’t a transfer partner of any of the flexible programs unfortunately, apart from Marriott. You can transfer 60,000 Marriott points for 25,000 TAP miles.

Since they are a United / Star Alliance partner is there any play through that route?

I think TAP can be transferred with SPG points?

@ Justintkme Yes, they are a Marriott/SPG transfer partner. Too bad spending on those cards is so rough now.

> Looks like you can do one way business class from North America to Portugal for 25,000 miles,

That’s incorrect. The normal price is 100k each way. The sale is 50k. TAP is expensive.

I hope you bowed a few times at the computer screen while typing this:

DOC is so rarely wrong and it’s not like you lost anything. Don’t be so mean while you are consuming valuable free information at daily basis. Maybe considering bowing during that too.

Bowing is only required if the mistake concerned a Japanese airline.

I agree with Santiago that DOC is the best! Even when they make a mistake, they promptly say so and correct it.

I really don’t have any international trips I need to take by March. Still, I have Marriott points, so this is tempting. I’m heading over to TAP’s website to see if their business seats are lay-flat or not.

The honesty of this blog always shocks me you guys are the best! Never forcing us to use referrals and tell us what’s good and what’s bad without being influenced by sponsors.
