The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Target is offering 20% off a future shopping trip in stores or online between December 3rd and 14th when you spend $50 or more on 11/29/19

The Fine Print

  • Your $50 purchase must be made in a single transaction starting at 12:01am local time on 11/29/19 and store close end of day Friday, or online 11/29/19 starting at midnight PST until 11:59pm PST.
  • Qualifying online guests will receive coupon via email.
  • Target reserves the right to cancel coupon if the online order is cancelled.
  • The $50 qualifying purchase will be calculated after all other discounts are applied. CVS pharmacy, clinic and Target Optical are excluded from qualification.
  • Limit one 20% off coupon per guest.
  • Some exclusions apply; see coupon for details.

Our Verdict

They had the the same deal last year, purchasing gift cards did work to trigger the coupon last year (20% can’t be used on gift cards). There is no limit on the 20% coupon making it extremely useful, usually excludes electronics and Apple items.

Going to Target on Black Friday is a hard pass.

It isn’t like it used to be. I was in and out inside of 20 minutes last year when I arrived at 7ish to get a coffee and spend $50.

If you read the fine print it can be an online purchase to get the coupon.

Online orders qualify

No need to go to Target. Did you read TFA? It explains this.

being able to shop online potentially makes it worth it

The language on the Target coupon is contradictory: Bold text states “spend $50+” but in details section they have specified “$50” at least 3 times and not once referred to “$50+”. Not sure which amount they will honor William Charles

“50+” is inclusive of 50.00… or more.

I understand that…but what I tried to point out was this; The fine print says $50….Not $50+.

It’s my first year with the Discover It card so I’m getting 10% at Target right now. This is potentially huge for me, depending on what kind of sales they have in December. Thanks!

As mentioned in the fine print above, ONLINE ORDERS have to be purchased after MIDNIGHT PACIFIC TIME, unlike the in-store that goes off of your own time zone obviously. So make sure to wait until after midnight pst if ordering online.

Good reminder. I was about to purchase but the item was out of stock. Looks like a quick trip to the store in the morning. Target is pretty easy on Friday since the real crazy shoppers blow through on Thursday.

Does Target still do the day when everything is 20% off and does this stack with that?

I think that’s just been 10 percent in the last couple of years.

I just got the coupon, unfortunately they’re are a ton of exclusions on what it can be used for: Apple, Fitbit, HP, gift cards, Lego, GoPro, Samsung TVs, Google, Bose and many others, too many to list

Does the 20% off for future purchase exclude grocery or household items?

Celia
Celia

No. That’s what I used it for last year. Those items and clothes are pretty much the best use of that coupon.

Did anyone just buy a Target gift card online for $50 and get the coupon? Last year I heard that worked.

Thanks!

I haven’t tried gift cards, but it work on T-Mobile refills.
There is a separate deal on those refills also:
But one, get a second @ 20% off, plus another
5% using RedCard.

I’ll try the coupon on yet another refill card on the 3rd.
