The Offer
- Alliant Credit Union have been sending out offers for two of their credit cards. You MUST have received the e-mail to be eligible, in the past people that entered the promotion code but weren’t targeted didn’t receive the bonus. Here are the offers:
- Alliant Visa® Platinum Rewards Card: 35,000 points after $3,000 in spend when you use the promotional code VISA129A. Card has no annual fee
- Alliant Visa® Platinum Card: 0% Introductory rate for 18 months when you use promotional code VISA129B. Card has no annual fee
The Fine Print
- This offer is not transferable and may only be used by the person to whom it is addressed
Our Verdict
The 35,000 point offer is worth $350, pretty good deal but I have seen targeted offers from Alliant as high as $500 in the past. Just keep in mind you’re not eligible unless you received the e-mail from Alliant.
Hat tip to reader Keith
I just received their offer for 40,000 rewards points with $4,000 spending in 3 billing cycles.
“Use promo code V101 when you apply by December 26, 2016”
Not sure if it’s worthwhile to wait for the 50,000 offers.
Is there a link?
No link. It was sent via email. I can send you a screenshot if needed.
Yes please, [email protected]. Any idea why you might have been targeted?
Pics sent.
No idea. I opened their checking/saving April this year, and the balances have been minimal (<$100), mainly using it for their lightning fast ACH in/out.
Got a 500 offer in Feb, just got 350 a week ago. Applied and approved. Never know if 500 is coming back. Didn’t bite in Feb as I was under 5/24…
So this offer has become public now? The direct link shows promotion code VISA129A and VISA129B.
It’s still targeted, read the fine print.
I just signed up for an Alliant account today and logged in to be presented with a credit card application. The application promo field was pre-populated with this same code. I wonder if I’ll get the bonus if I’m approved.
Did it mention the sign up bonuses?
No, but it had the VISA129A code in the promo field.
I received $300 about 6 months back, but I didn’t apply. I also received this $350 offer, and I am not going to take it yet because other people received $500 offer in the past. Just waiting…
What accounts do you have with Alliant? Do you maintain a high balance? How long have you been a member? Where do you live? Any data points you can provide would be great. TIA.
I don’t see how this is helpful. If ur not targeted then this won’t help, and if you are targeted then you would already know via email.
FoMO. Now you know it’s true. 😉
Because some people aren’t members of Alliant and may want to join in the hopes of a targeted offer.
People can also discuss ways to get targeted, etc etc.
Also, I’m really aggressive with my spam filters. Can’t stand it when businesses contact me to constantly (especially if you are chasing bonuses, you get on a lot of mailing lists). This defaults to Google’s algos dumping promotional messages directly into spam.
In the event that they don’t and get caught as promotional, I may not see the message in time (I check my personal email accounts on my phone most often, and only check messages that fall into my main inbox).
Does this require to have an existing relationship with alliant credit union?
Yes, as it’s targeted by e-mail.
Thank you!
Any way to have a higher chance of being targeted? Visiting and inputting information on their website? I am part of penfed if that matters to some database.
