[Targeted] American Express Blue Business Plus 20,000 Point Offer

Reposting because another round of offers have gone out. Subject line is “[Name], this message is for you: You’ve been pre-selected to apply! Get 0% intro APR on purchases for 15 months”. Hat tip to reader G

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer via e-mail. Subject line is ‘Apply for the New Blue Business Plus Card and Enjoy No Annual Fee’

  • American Express is offering a sign up bonus of 20,000 points after $3,000 in spend within the first three months of card ownership on the American Express Blue Business Plus

Card Details

  • 2x Membership Rewards points on all purchases for the first $50,000 per calendar year
  • 1x Membership Rewards points on all other purchases
  • No annual fee

Our Verdict

Card originally launched with this bonus, but given that it earns 2x points on all purchases (making it one of the best cards for every day spend) I doubt we will see that bonus publicly come back. I also doubt we will see a higher bonus than 20,000 considering that earning rate and the no annual fee. If I was targeted for this then I’d go for it (assuming you can meet the minimum spend and have some use of the 2x now or in the future). As always before applying or asking basic questions in the comments read our guide on American Express credit cards here and the F.A.Q on Blue Business Plus here.

Does anybody have any codes they aren’t using for this 20k sign up? Would love to get this card with the bonus.

I got an offer for this card a few days ago by snail mail. It says that I am being invited to and it says my interest rate will be 12.24% and it gives a RSVP code. Does that mean I am pre-approved? Usually they say you’re pre-selected or pre-approved.

I don’t think it means you’re preapproved, but you probably have a solid shot at getting it. The main thing is to make sure you’re not running up against any of their rules (5 credit cards, too many cards within 90 days, etc).

If for some reason you don’t use your offer, I’d be eternally grateful for the code 🙂

For the folks who got the mailer, when does it expire? This card is next on my list to get but won’t be ready to get it for another month or two.

If it lasts through at least the end of November, and anyone has a mailer they won’t use, please email me at [email protected] 🙂

I got this card last week with this offer.
So the terms state I have 0% APR until Feb ’19 statement.

@DoC, this seems like a perfect card to take advantage of.
There was no HP to get this card.
Business card so won’t even show up on my credit report.
So I can have a high balance/utilization on this credit card until Feb ’19 and have no impact whatsoever on my credit report? Am I missing something?
(Assuming I make minimum payments every month and pay off in full by Feb ’19).
