[Targeted] American Express Gold Mailer 50,000 Points Signup Bonus with No Lifetime Language

A couple of Reddit members are getting a mailer offer for the new American Express Gold card, and these mailers don’t show the lifetime language. All other details are the same, including:

  • Get a 50,000 points signup bonus when spending $2,000 within 3 months.
  • Get 20% back at restaurants, up to $100, on purchases during the first 3 months.
  • The regular $10 monthly dining credit.
  • The standard non-waivable $250 annual fee.

This mailer being sent out has a quick expiration date of 11/18/18. It also has the rose colored card available.

Typically, you’d do better applying via referral link, even self-referral, but if you’ve already had the Premier Rewards Gold card and thus aren’t eligible for the signup bonus on the Gold card, this is a good option.

I’d like to know if a cardholder who got the 20% back on restaurants can add an authorized user and the authorized user also get 20% back? for a total of $200?
another blog reports this, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else. any DPs? or info at all?

It’s a charge card. There isn’t a traditional credit limit.

Excited DP (I never get targeted for these!): I got this in the mail today. Had and closed the PRG maybe 2-3 years ago. Was holding out for a possible upgrade offer on my Green card. Couldn’t believe it when I read and re-read the T&C that there was no lifetime language. Then I found this post, so I figured, give it a shot!

Approved immediately. This plus the Platinum card plus Everyday Preferred card are pretty compelling, I may end up shifting a huge portion of my spend from Chase UR to Amex MR.

I got this mailer too but my expiration date is 12/8/2018. I had the PRG since 2/2016 but upgraded it to Plat in 8/2018. When I applied online using the rsvp code, I didn’t get a pop up saying I was in eligible for the bonus offer. I was approved and am hoping I’m still eligible for the 50k MR
