Our Verdict

A friend of mine got this one, I can’t find it on any of my cards, so it may be highly targeted.

Sam’s sells lots of gift cards online, including their own gift card (which works at Walmart too, and should work for Walmart/Sam’s gas too), as well as Visa/MC gift cards. I believe you can shop online without membership too by paying a 10% service fee (no fee in CA), at least that’s how it used to be. Check out some deals on Sam’s membership here.

Has anybody else experienced this? I ordered a $60 Sams Club gift card on Jan 7 & paid for it with 2 $30 Amex charges. I received the gift card a few days later. The 2 $30 charges showed as pending for a few days and then dropped off. The 2 $30 charges have not posted after 11 days nor have the $15 credits. My available credit has dropped by $60 though.

Any updates on this for you Terry? Kind of going through something similar. My charges have not dropped off (from pending) since 5 days now. Thanks!

The problem seems to be with Sam’s Club. The order still shows as In Progress even though I received the card 2 weeks ago. I have called Sam Club twice and they say that it is a system problem and that they will fix my order. However, it still shows as In Progress after 2 calls. I just hope that when and if it does get fixed that it gets done before Jan 31 or at least shows a transaction date prior to Jan 31

Hi Terry, thanks for the update! Mine has moved since then from pending to charged, and just today the credits also posted for ALL 3 of my cards that had this offer.

Safe to say I’m a happy camper to have this all taken care of before Jan 31st. I hope the same has happened for you as well by now!

When did you placed the order? Does the charge show the actual date on which order was placed?

Do you have to have a membership to order giftcards at Samsclub.com?

Lots of $50 restaurant gift cards for $37.50, become $22.50 with this deal. 55% off, hard to beat that. I used mine for Chuck E. Cheese.

Split payment for discounted restaurant GCs between P1 & P2. No email confirmations, and neither has posted, but they show up under redeemed offers on both cards – so should post soon. Transaction date 12/29.

Got this on my Amex gold card. I just signed up for Sam’s club a week ago when I got the Amex offer: spend $45 on a membership, get $25 back. I’ll probably buy gift cards to Best Buy because I need to spend money there next year to keep elite status and they can price match the things I want that are cheaper at Walmart.

BB GC doesn’t count to the spending for elite status…

Yes, I paid with pGC, no reward pts, no spending updates. I asked CSR, they said because I paid with GC.

Anyone know if the Visa eGift cards will trigger this offer?

Got it on BCP and bought three $10 Sam’s Club gc’s. No confirmation of a successful cashback deal so far.

No confirmation for me, either, and I ordered a couple days ago (GCs shipped today).

I did the same, no confirmation email but the $15 credit posted. Another nice surprise was I used the gift cards at walmart this evening, and all three had $11 loaded on them. Not sure if it was a random error or if they always add the 10% surcharge onto their gift cards.

The statement credit did post, see my later comment above under Celia’s.

What’s this 10% thing??

I just got restaurant GCs, as physical ones come in handy when on the road. The net price of $45 for $100 in GCs (split payment, 2 players so 2 offers). Also an easy (and even profitable) liquidation through Raise or CardCash if I decide I no longer want them.

Got it on my BBP card with the 4x MR offer. Will purchase a gift card with it and see how it goes.

Thanks DoC.

Any Sam’s Club gift cards for $30? A spot check shows only $25 and $40 denominations.

Order 3x$10 or $10+$20 if you want even $30 — I went ahead and ordered the $40 since I shop at Sams/Walmart and prefer to order single GC.

If multiple people in your household have the offer then you can do a split payment on a single $60 GC ($30 on each Amex)

How do you split payment online? I can’t see that option.

  CF

Save both cards to your profile — during checkout in the payment options you have to check both boxes for the cards then it’ll ask for amount on each card

I had no idea this option existed! Just did it. TYSVM!
