The Offer
Hat tip to PFDigest
- Bank of America is targeting some of their existing cardholders for the following offer on their Travel Rewards credit card: 20,000 bonus points (worth $200 towards travel purchases) when you spend $500 or more within the first 90 days after account opening and 0% introductory APR for twelve billing cycles.
The Fine Print
- This is a targeted offer, to find this offer you need to log into your Bank of America account. You might also be able to find it by checking for pre-qualified offers with Bank of America.
Our Verdict
A $200 sign up bonus is by no means the best available in terms of cash sign up bonuses, but there are two reasons why you should consider this offer:
- The card is issued by Bank of America, it’s always a good idea to spread your inquiries around different credit card issuers. The standard bonus on this card is also only $100.
- Bank of America combines multiple credit card pulls into a single inquiry. This means you could apply for other BofA cards, such as the spirit 15,000 mile + $100 offer or the Alaska Airlines 25,000 + $100 offer and it would only count as one hard pull on your credit report.
Unfortunately I didn’t see this offer in my account, otherwise I would have almost certainly grabbed it. Let me know if you had any success in the comments below.
I was able to find this offer for my dad (along with the $200 cashback for bank of america cash rewards) by checking customized offer, exiting offer and clicking browser back into the offer page.
The first time it showed 10,000 points. Second time showed 20,000 points.
I tried to repeat this for myself, but could not be successful. Anyone able to do this?
If you can qualify for the Platinum Honors Tier of BofA Rewards ($100K assets at BofA / Merrill Lynch), this card provides a payout of 2.63% on all spending. I think this is the highest payout generally available for non-bonused spend, except, the limited time 3% deal on the Discover Travel card.
It is also no AF and no FT fee. Great and very underrated card.
