Quite a few readers received this offer and asked if targeted e-mail offers like this by pass the 5/24 rule. The answer is no, but I wonder if receiving such an e-mail means you’re also eligible for the pre-approved $300 offer in branch offer as well? (update at least one reader received this offer but isn’t targeted in branch for a pre-approval) As those in branch pre-approved offers do by pass 5/24. Offer itself is pretty good, normal bonus is $150 after $500 in spend so this is double normal. Probably worth getting if you’re under 5/24, but that really depends what other Chase cards you want to get and focus on.
