[Expired] Chase Business Cards: Earn 5x Points On Shipping & Social Media/Search Advertising (Limit $10,000 Spend)

Deal has ended, view more spending bonuses by clicking here.

Update 8/28/20: According to reddit user b2flyer23 Google adwords is not coding as advertising and Chase is refusing to manually credit the points. There is always fine print stating that it needs to code correctly to receive the points but given that Google is the largest search advertiser you’d think that Chase would either specifically state these purchases won’t count or manually apply them. It is coding correctly for most people, making this even more frustrating.

Update 8/24/20: There is now a landing page for this offer. Only available on the Chase Ink Preferred & Chase Ink Plus There is also a link for Southwest & United cards as well. Hat tip to Chase-ing UR points

Update 8/7/20: Myself (Chuck) and others just got an email about this offer on the INK Preferred, so it’s now more official. Others report getting this on Southwest business cards too. Might be a public offer on all business cards (or at least all INK and Southwest).

No activation required; people have already been automatically getting the 5x multiplier points showing. Added the fine print and image, below.

Contents

The Offer

No direct link to offer, promotion is showing up on UR page when you expand the dashboard and then opened “Recent Activity,” and the promo shows up under “Featured Benefits.”

  • Some Chase Ink cardholders are being offered 5x points per $1 spent on shipping and social media or search advertising from August 1 – October 31 on up to $10,000 in spend.

That’s 2 points on top of the 3 points you already earn on your first $150,000 spent, which includes the $10,000, in “3” point” categories each anniversary year on those purchases with your card. For more information about Chase rewards categories, chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs. Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.) To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This bonus offer is non-transferable and applies only to the account of the primary cardmember referenced in this offer. Eligible credit cards: Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.

Our Verdict

Can see this being a fantastic deal for businesses that spend money on online advertising/shipping. Although some of them will burn through this $10,000 in spend very quickly.

Couple Data Points:

5x – I got the same offer on both CIPs I have, maxed them out in… a week 🙂
Which sort of makes up for:

3x Problems:
We spend maybe ~$1500 a week on Google AdWords.

I can confirm that they stopped posting as 3x a 2-3 months back.
Well, occasionally they post as 3x, but, it is fading fast, mostly posting as 1x now days.

I called Chase this week, spoke to nice person. They confirmed it is a known issue.
They handed it to some accounting team, who manually crediting me some points a few days later

I’m missing the 3x bonus on 24 total $500 AdWords transactions so far. So, not a huge amount of points, (24k), but not zero either. So far have gotten back 1/3 of what I’m owed.

I will wait a month or two and call again, see what’s up.
It’s annoying for sure.

I should max out both CIPs at the 300k bonus points level, anyway, so, personally, I am not going to stress about it.
But, if you aren’t maxing out the bonuses for the year, then, it’s lost points for sure. 🙁

(and no, I can’t move the spend to Amex Biz Gold, already maxed out the 4x on that 7 months into the year…. although I’m thinking of applying for a second)

Chuck In regard to Ink cards, it’s just Chase Ink Preferred and Chase Ink Plus that are eligible (https://www.chase.com/business/credit-cards/ink/earn-5).

$5,000 CC funding for a local credit union (part of MA/ NH only) posted as “Office/ Shipping” and earned the 5x UR last week. I had earned 3x UR for “Office/Shipping” last year opening BankAtPeoples account (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ma-ct-only-peoplesbank-bankatpeoples-400-checking-bonus-direct-deposit-not-required/#comment-748894), but they now use a different application website.

Both places application url’s show up as: “bank name”-web.oflows.net
I know this is only 2 data points, but seems promising that any banks/ CU using the “web.oflows” system will code this way. I had forgotten to downgrade my CIP earlier this year, but now I’m quite pleased earning 50,000 UR with this promotion alone (transferred to CSR for $750+ value).

oFlows was software sold by “Andrea” (company) which was bought by Bottomline. Looks like Bottomline isn’t really selling it anymore so strike while the iron is hot

Not seeing on my Chase Ink Business Cash. Looked under the featured benefits. Is that card not included? Would like to get that 5x on FedEx. Maybe worth trying and chancing only getting 1x.
