Will They Match This Offer

If you can give them the offer code and invitation number that is linked to your account (and on the targeted mailer), then Chase will match this offer. It is possible to get matched to the 70,000 in branch offer as well, but you still need to pay the $95 annual fee if your previous offer came with this.

Our Verdict

It’s currently possible for everybody to get 70,000 points and the annual fee waived first year by going into a Chase branch (there are a few other good reasons to go into a branch at the moment as well). This might actually be a better offer, as if you’re pre-approved for the card you’ll be able to get around the 5/24 rule (F.A.Q on this here). Sometimes these targeted mailers can get you around the 5/24 rule as well, but it seems to be less successful than in branch pre-approvals.

Obviously this 100,000 offer is pretty massive and if you received it and are under 5/24, I’d jump on it. Even if you’re over it’s probably worth applying for, if you’re denied you could always go in branch and check for pre-approvals for the 70k offer.
