William Charles  Chuck 5x for online purchases on AA citi card offer just came through again, up to 2500 bonus miles. Good till 7/31/2020.

I was also targeted for the previous 10x offer that just ended.

I just got an email to sign up for the same offer that I had received in the mail. Subject line was “(name), Use Your Citi Card to Earn Bonus ThankYou® Points on Eligible Purchases: It’s So Simple to Activate! “

So it seems like there is no way on the Citi site to see the points earned on an individual transaction, is there? You can easily get that info at BofA and Chase. I suspect that the 4x bonus points also won’t show up in the TYP area since they post at the end of the period. So I’ll have to take their word for it that my doctor bill payment counts towards my 5x online purchases offer. I did a $1 payment and confirmed that it showed up as an online purchase.

The Citi Premier card does show in real times its points earnings. Their other TYP cards generally do not, and reconciling is hard without spread sheet work. For Sears bonuses its particularly messy since that has to be figured out from the paper statement (!) and is just lumped together under whatever the mulitplier X is. (Sears doesn’t even show you pending stuff on their site, you have to port it into some other system (like Yodlee or whatnot) to see pending MCC’s)

Actually I just checked and it did indeed show me the individual transactions and points on my Rewards+ card. Maybe this just changed since i did not see the detailed info the other day. It also showed me the 4x Promotional Bonus and my medical bill charge did qualify. However, the 4x was applied before the round-up, so my test payment of $1 for a medical bill only got 10 points (1 + 4 (for 4x) + 5 (for round-up)) rather than 14 (1+9 (round-up) + 4 (4x)). Obvious this would not be an issue for larger charges.

Is it 2500 extra points or is it 2500 total points?

So is the required spend $500 or is it $625?

It’s 4 points per dollar as a bonus in addition to the 1 base point per dollar that would ordinarily be earned. The maximum bonus of 2500 points can be earned by spending $625.

it says “2500 additional points” and “4 bonus ThankYou Points”, so I guess it’s $625.

I think these offers you have to register FIRST and then the enhanced earnings are activated. This is different from other cards like Freedom or Sears

RIght they are not retroactive like Chase. But it’s not like Chase in that it doesn’t apply to a quarter’s worth of charges and the categories are announced in advance. So what would the start date be? When they mailed it? The goal is to get you to make new purchases so that wouldn’t make sense.

I’m pretty sure that Discover only credits starting when you activate, and they’re quarterly like Chase.

I got 5x online purchases on my wife’s Rewards+ card, excluding gas and groceries which get 2x points (and really not applicable to online purchases anyway). I’ve been using it for small (generally under $1) purchases to get the 10 TY points per transaction

I had this same offer over the holidays and though I theoretically met the requirements, most of the stores I bought from did not register in those categories (like Newegg, Target, JCPenney, BestBuy). There is something seriously wrong with how Citi categorizes stores. Citi tells me the categorization is not up to them. BS.

Mother received 5x points on all purchases excluding dining and entertainment through 05/31/20 with a cap of 2500 bonus points on thank you preferred.

I received 5x points on grocery stores, gas stations, drugstores, mass transit & commuter transportation vendors through May 31, 3020 with a cap of 2500 points.

Neither of us have used our cards in the last 6-9 months.
