[Expired] [Targeted] Discover: $25 Statement Credit For Recurring Mobile Phone Charges

Deal has expired, view more Discover deals by clicking here

The Offer

Targeted offer sent out via e-mail. Subject line is ‘Get a $25 statement credit’

  • Discover is offering some cardholders a $25 statement credit when they use their Discover card to pay two consecutive recurring mobile phone carrier charges by 04/30/2019

The Fine Print

  • To qualify for a one-time $25 statement credit, by 04/30/2019, you must enroll your mobile carrier in recurring charges and have at least two consecutive payments billed on your Discover card.
  • By timely performing this action, you will receive a $25 statement credit 1-2 billing cycles after 04/30/2019.

Our Verdict

Doesn’t seem to be any minimum spend requirement so you should be able to just do a small charge and then put the remaining balance onto a card that earns at a high rate on these types of purchases.

Discover for like 10 years and I’m never targeted or at least I’ve never gotten an email with any of these.

At least it’s clear I’m not targeted — I got the related mail “Pay recurring charges for mobile phone carrier using Discover” with the same instructions and no offer. Well gee, I think I’ll pass on this opportunity to earn less than CIC.

think it will work for Google Fi? didn’t code as Phone charge with Amex when they had a 10% back Amex Offer late last year…

Wonder if a pair of Sprint “1 year free” monthly fees payments, roughly $3.61, would trigger the $25 credit.

2nd-hand DP: screwed up the “2 consecutive” but autopay, pay, autopay and the credit did post. Dates would have been ~2/21 3/22 4/21.
