I received the $50 credit recently. This was my first time getting targeted for this offer as a long time Discover credit card and checking/savings account holder. My P2 has been targeted several times previously, so I don’t know how they pick who to send this offer to. I made a $2 AT&T bill payment to satisfy the purchase requirement for this offer, and it was also waived with a small balance credit this month.
5/14 – Received first targeted email about offer
6/11 – Received reminder email about offer
6/18 – Removed existing authorized user and re-added through email link
6/26 – Made $2 AT&T bill payment with primary user’s credit card
7/3 – $2 purchase waived with monthly small balance credit
7/5 – Redeemed $50 in cashback rewards to linked bank account
7/8 – Rewards posted to bank account
If you get this offer, it might be a good idea to delete your authorized user right after you get the bonus. When I deleted my previous authorized user to complete this bonus, I wasn’t able to add the same authorized user on the same day. I had to enter a different authorized user instead. So, if you only have one authorized user to work with, the system might not let you remove and immediately re-add that person if you’re trying to qualify for this offer.
Just got this email. P2’s credit is frozen, can I still add them as AU?
Doesn’t matter — there’s no credit check but the card will show up on their credit reports with your original card opening date

how does one go about making a referral for the Discover Miles card? 3% after 1 year. Plus the 100.00 bonus for both. My wife sends me referrals, but all it is, is for the It card. Not Miles. I can do a great amt of spend and would want the 3% after 1 year plus the 100.00 bonus for both. All I get via her referrals is the It card. TIA to everybody.
I have always waited for the new card to arrive and be activated before making the required purchase. But I wonder if it matters, since the card number is the same?
Does not matter in my experience. As you mention card number is the same so online / non-swiped transaction looks exactly the same. Also the terms do not even mention that the purchase has to be made with the AU card.
Last year got it, removed the user after getting $52. Targeted again.

Yes, they do and since they revoked my cat’s… I’m out.
Does adding an AU do a hard pull on the added person’s credit ?

I mean , can I apply right after I close the existing one ? Or any cooling period like 60 days ?
I always re-add approx 20-30 seconds later during the same browser session.

No I just mean I’ve been targeted for this offer multiple times over several years. You can find many comments from me here. Each time I’m targeted I remove my wife from AU and then immediately just re-add her. Never been an issue to get the bonus.
What do you do to get targeted for these offers? Discover never sends me anything for my card.

I recently did this and they told me I had zero offers or promotions. But since asking – I have received numerous offers in my email, including this one.
