[Expired] U.S. Bank & Fidelity Cards: Get $10-$25 When Paying Insurance Bill (Targeted Offer)

Deal has ended, view more Fidelity deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your emails for the following offer on the Fidelity 2% card and on other U.S. Bank credit cards:

  • Get 1,000 points ($10) when you pay an insurance bill with the card by February 28, 2023.
  • There’s another version for $25 back.

The Fine Print

  • Promotion period is from January 10, 2023, through February 28, 2023.
  • To receive this offer, you must pay any insurance bill with your Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Card by February 28, 2023.
  • The Reward Points award will be applied to your account 2-3 billing cycles after the end of the promotion period.
  • The maximum number of Reward Points awards is one. This offer is not transferable.
  • Your account must remain open, have available credit, and be current (no minimum payment past due) to qualify. This offer may not apply if your credit card has changed to a different type of card within the last 12 weeks or changes before the Reward Points award is applied.
  • Elan Financial Services cannot control how insurance merchants choose to identify their business and/or classify purchases and reserves the right to determine which purchases qualify.

Our Verdict

Any small charge for any regular car, life, health, or homeowners insurance should hopefully work to trigger this offer credit. Just note, the Fidelity card has a $25 minimum cashout threshold, so keep that in mind.

DP:
1/16/23 Paid $10 to my auto insurance via PayPal billpay (was already paid in full for six months so I couldn’t do it directly through my provider). It coded correctly as insurance once posted.

4/22/23 Appears on e-statement:
Recurring Bill Pay Promotion $10.00

Note that this is +$10 to rewards balance and not +$10 statement credit. It also appears in the “Rewards and Benefits” tab after clicking on the account in app, backdated to 4/6 (U.S. Bank). From payment to rewards credit was three full statement periods, even though I actually got 4 statements since the initial payment made it in before cutoff. Takes forever but these usually work ok.

I’ve used the offer on a US Bank card and never received the credit. I left it on autopay with the USB card just to make sure but I never received the credit. You will have to call in and hope they can find someone to help you if it doesn’t credit.

Would this work for travel insurance?

The email from U.S. Bank suggests it works for these: Health, Home or Renter’s, Auto, and Life. It might work for others too, I don’t know how many different insurance mccs are available.
