Last week I had 40% off and this week 30% off. In addition I was targeted for a ridepass which is very vague. $24.99 a month with auto-renew, discounts on Express Pool rides which I hate and UberX. There is no fixed discount, can be 15% to a maximum of 35% with supposedly a more stable price going to a destination you frequent like work with no surge pricing. I think its BS because I have seen UberX prices fluctuate during surge pricing for work address, it should be 1 fixed price all the time. And the Pool prices where you don’t walk, those were even higher than UberX during surge pricing LOL. I’ve wrote them feedback hopefully they listen. If the price doesn’t drop next month I won’t be renewing. This is for Uber account that is used a lot, I get no offers on unused account. On a Lyft account that was barely used, got a wonderful targeted monthly ridepass that auto-renews for $14.99 and I get unlimited 25% all rides.

Don’t want to jinx it but I have had this offer for about 5 months now, I am probably a part of one their AB tests !!

I keep targeting for these Uber offers, which look great at first- except I don’t live in one of the cities that are part of the offer. Seems strange they keep targeting me, they must know where I live right?

Mine was just 30% off.

I have 50% off on both Uber and Lyft this week. I got 50% off from Lyft from last week till end of January. Last week, Uber gave me 50% off too and thought it’ll be done on Sunday, Jan 20 but what do you know, they gave me another fresh 50% off this week too!! Must be because of competition in SF where both Uber and Lyft are constantly fighting each other.

30% off here, targeted with 50% for the past few months. Really misleading as it’s truely just a $6 discount for most rides.

My favorite recent Uber discount was “$0 off your next ride. Exclusions apply.”

It will be nice if we could figure out the logic behind the target promo.
My SO has been targeted 50% off (6off max) for almost a year (every Monday a new email comes) and since Jan, that dropped to 40%. She only takes 3-4 trips in a week.
We live in NYC.

I didn’t get an email, but my Uber app shows 30% off up to $6 at the top of the screen

The entitlement in this thread is staggering. Uber is offering you a discount, which it has absolutely zero incentive to do, and you’re complaining?

Amazing.

They’re trying to IPO their company and are desperate to show ridership growth during their roadshow to investors. The coupons are not out of the sheer goodness of their heart….

Non sequitur. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and Uber isn’t offering discounts out of the kindness of their hearts.

But meh, unless it’s a 50% discount, I’d still rather pay a dollar or two extra for a Lyft ride, since (strictly in my own experience) Lyft rides have been better quality, whether in terms of the driver, the driving, or not pooling with someone who’s 15 minutes away from your destination, and you end up 8 minutes late* and Uber doesn’t even offer an apology (I wish I made the last one up).

*as in 8 minutes past Uber’s own worst-case estimate

You need a lesson in economics if you think they have no incentive to do so.

Really?

So I guess if these weekly discounts ended you wouldn’t use Uber anymore, right?

Right.

Correct, I would use Lyft as they often offer discounts.

I’m also seeing 25% back at Redbox for Visa Local Offers in the Uber app.

Anyone know how to opt into email offers? I don’t see it anywhere in the app.

Got the 30% offer in this latest round. Haven’t gotten a discount since they were arbitrarily locking my account last year and gave me 50% off for like two months straight.
