[Targeted] HSBC Upgrade To HSBC Advance Checking & Get $200 Bonus
No direct link, targeted offer sent out via e-mail. Subject line is ‘Get $200 on us plus higher mobile deposit limits’
- HSBC is offering some checking customers a bonus of $200 when you upgrade your existing HSBC checking account to the HSBC Advance checking account by April 12th, 2019 and meet the qualifying balance of combined deposit/investment balances of $10,000 or receive a $5,000 recurring direct deposit within 30 days of account upgrade. You must also maintain that qualifying balance for at least 90 days.
The Fine Print
- This offer is non-transferrable and available only at a U.S. HSBC branch or by contacting the Advance Engagement Team or HSBC representative via LiveChat. All qualifying activities must be completed within the stated time frames in order to be eligible for the $200 Thank You Deposit.
- Qualifying Balance is combined balances in U.S. Dollar personal deposit accounts and/or eligible investment* balances of at least $10,000 OR of at least $5,000 with a recurring direct deposit from a third party to an HSBC Advance checking account at least once per calendar month. For this offer Accounts/Assets that are ineligible for the Qualifying Balance include: insurance products; fixed and variable annuities; 529 College Savings Plans; any retirement accounts including but not limited to IRAs, Keogh, Simple IRAs, and 401(k) Plans; UTMA and UGMA accounts; commercial accounts; and revocable or irrevocable trust accounts and estate accounts.
Advance Checking Monthly Fees
This account has a $25 monthly fee, this fee is waived if you maintain linked combined balances of at least $10,000 or at least $5,000 with a recurring direct deposit from a third party to an HSBC advance checking account at least once per monthly cycle.
I guess this is targeted towards people who opened choice accounts ($200 bonus). Most people will have opened the advanced checking account directly as the $350 bonus is slightly better. If you didn’t then this upgrade offer is worth doing as it’s a pretty easy $200 return on $10,000 over 90 days.
