Ibotta: Get $3 for Amazon Shopping, $5 for Other Shopping

The Offer

  • Some Ibotta users are being offered a $3 bonus when they spend $150 or more at Amazon. Reader John also said they purchased a gift card and it worked fine to trigger the $3.
  • Another offer showing (this one for everyone?) is to get $5 for making three purchases. Reader blue9 gave a tip that buying three $0 Groupon deals triggered this offer. E.g. a free Pandora trial, free ShowTime trial, and free ABCMouse trial.

The Fine Print

  • Amazon offer expires 01/01/19
  • $5 mobile shopping offer expires 12/4/18

Our Verdict

Small deals, but could be an easy few dollars.

If you don’t already have an Ibotta account, you can use my referral link, and you’ll get $10 for joining (I’ll also receive $5 and a bonus $15 if I refer three people). Appreciate you using my link if you do decide to sign up.

I had $5 for 3 offer and earlier today made 3 Groupon purchases for the trial memberships listed in Doc’s post above. Didn’t get any confirmation right away – but after 4 hours or so, got the confirmation of the Groupon purchases through Ibotta and $5 credit as well. Thanks Doc!

I had $2 for 3 mobile shopping offers. I tested with Groupon free trials (exact ones listed in the main post) but did them each in separate clicks from the ibotta app so each would have a unique shopping trip # generated. Let’s see if it works!

Confirmed – received three tracking emails from Ibotta from the free “purchases” and got the $2 credited immediately

The fine print on my $5 mobile shopping offer states “Must spend a minimum of $1 per offer redemption.” I did the trials anyway since they’re quick and easy just in case Ibotta’s purchase verification isn’t as thorough as their T&C make it out to be but ymmv…

I noticed the same … wonder if that’s been added today? Fingers crossed anyway.

Any chance you folks know of any other such ‘free’ offers that can be used through mobile offers? I did the three Groupon ones, but only 2 of them triggered in the ibotta app. 🙁

It might take some time to trigger, but if not any Amazon free trial should trigger it as well. (e.g. audible, kindle unlimited etc.) Probably any free trial will work.

You’re right… The first purchase just took two more hours to register. Thanks!

Same here. I’m a fairly heavy Ibotta user so I always get the stingy versions of the offers.

I think it’s only available if your name is John.
