No luck this year on the free bagels, but have gotten $450+ in value from the MyPanera+ coffee subscription.
Grrr when I tried to order my free bagel this morning – they were out of stock on every bagel. I had to order one from the other side of town and then drive a 15 mile round trip to get it. Good job gas is cheap atm.
Assuming gas costs ~$2/gallon where you live and that your card gets ~20mpg in city driving, that “free” bagel actually cost you at least $1.50 in gas (not to mention time). Retail cost of a bagel? ~$1.39..
…and that’s not including the cost value of his time….but that’s neither here nor there.
New offers of $2 off any You Pick Two and 50% off any soup, valid 4/28/20-5/4/20, Looks like you can redeem both on a single order, but just once per order. Unscientific evidence is that everyone got these (all of our accounts did).
Combine with the 20% off gift cards for a decent deal.
I got an offer of “ Free Mac and cheese every day with any order of $20 or more” today. Never got anything like that before, so maybe they sent out different offers to everyone?
I also got a deal for free mac and cheese every day with a $20 order
No bagel love for me.
I have the coffee subscription so I go there every day, but the price of their food is insane. I keep getting these $2 off pick two offers, but it’s like ok who’s paying $11 for a half salad and small bowl of Mac & Cheese lol
I have it but not sure I want to venture out every day in this for a bagel worth $2
Free carbs here i come. Thank you!
I appreciate this and its great in combination with the coffee subscription I have. But I can’t help but wonder how their employees feel. They are giving away free items and exposing their employees to more people for nothing.
Given current circumstances, they’re probably giving away food that would get tossed at the end of the day anyway. At least with customers, there’s a chance of earning some sales.
Panera donates their leftover food at the end of the day, which is actually needed more than ever right now. And I’m thinking they hope that people will come in for more than the free bagel, leading to more sales of other stuff.
Not always.
Not sure which part of my post you’re referring to. I agree that not everyone buys more, I agree, I do not. But I’m guessing at least some people do and it makes it worthwhile for them.
Got this on my account but not my wife’s. And it’s only valid for a week (as opposed to all month as in the past). On the bright side, it says the max value is $3.09 so it should cover adding cream cheese.
The same day ordering is disappointing. You used to be able to order in advance and pick up a few day’s worth at once.
It’s still a free bagel, not $3.09 of credit as long as your order contains a bagel. The spread is separate and still charged.
Subtotal $2.98
Tax $0.09
Offer: Free Daily Bagel -$1.99
Tip $0.00
Total $1.08
I figured since the spread was bundled with the bagel it would count. That’s disappointing. BTW where do they charge $1.99 for a bagel????
In higher cost of living areas, the bagels are 1.69 for “standard” and 1.99 “premium”… sf bay area, new york city, etc.
