Targeted Spending Bonuses For Q3 2017 (Barclaycard, Chase & More)

A lot of card issuers send out targeted spending bonuses each quarter. Here is a round up of those offers for Q3 2017, make sure you check your e-mails and snail mail for any of these offers. If you find one that isn’t listed, let us know in the comments.

Barclaycard

Barclaycard usually targets people based on when their annual fee is due, if yours is due during Q3 then chances are you’ll be more likely to be targeted.

Apple

Spend $500 or more in July, August and September and receive 1,000 bonus points for each month the spend level is achieved. Get an additional 2,000 points for achieving the spend level in all three months. Hat tip to reader @LWjoshb

Aviator

3x points up to a cap of 2,500 points (this is in addition to the regular 1/2x). Hat tip to reader German E

Arrival

3x points up to a cap of 2,500 points (this is in addition to the regular 1/2x). Hat tip to reader TG

JetBlue

Spend $750 or more in July, August and September and receive 1,000 bonus points for each month the spend level is achieved. Get an additional 2,000 points for achieving the spend level in all three months. Extra 2.22 miles per $1 spent if you meet it in all three months and spend exactly $750. Hat tip to /r/churning

Wyndham

1 additional point per dollar up to $2,500 in spend for Q3. Hat tip to reader Drew.

Chase

AARP

For every month you spend $500+ on new purchases from July 1st to November 30th you’ll receive 300 bonus points. 0.6x bonus points per $1 spent. Not really worth bothering with especially considering that other cards are offering category bonuses on restaurants. Hat tip to reader Jeff H

Chase IHG

For every month you spend $750+ on new purchases from July 1st to November 30th you’ll receive 600 bonus points. Hat tip to Travel With Grant

Southwest

Earn 300 bonus points each month you make $500 in purchases between 4/1/17 – 8/31/17. 0.6x bonus points per $1 spent. Hat tip to reader Wyle.

Commence By Sallie Mae

Spend $1,000 in each of July, August & September and receive $50 cash back. Works out to be an extra 1.67% cash back if you spend $1,000 exactly each month. Not the worst deal but certainly not great. Hat tip to /r/churning

Our Verdict

I’m sure this is just the start, usually all Barclaycard cards with an annual fee will have some sort of targeted spending offer and we usually see something from Citi as well.
