[Targeted] Wells Fargo Go Far Rewards: 10% Back on Grocery Or Gas Purchases (Max $40 Cashback)

Update 11/19/19: Another round, this one valid through December 15th. (ht Chris)

Update 8/2/19: Another offer came out for August. This time, it can only be used in one shot. (ht Jonathan)

The Offer

Check your Wells Fargo Go Far Rewards login for one of the following offers:

  • Get 10 points per dollar (worth at least 10% back) on grocery store purchases. Max 4,000 points ($40).
  • Get 10 points per dollar (worth at least 10% back) on gas purchases. Max 4,000 points ($40).

The Fine Print

  • Must activate offer to qualify.
  • (First purchase only – check the terms)
  • Expires August 31, 2019.
  • Grocery offer is valid in-store or online.
  • Grocery stores exclude warehouse clubs and supercenters.
  • Bonus Cash Rewards will be added to your Rewards Account within 30 days of purchase.

Our Verdict

10% back at grocery stores and gas stations is great. It should work based on whatever Visa codes as Grocery or Gas; you can check the Visa Supplier Locator for specific locations. Max this out with a $400 in purchases.

Similar offer was around in June; though that one was for 15% back. I believe last month’s offer was able to be used across multiple shopping trips, this one should be the same.

there is also 1% CVS, 5% Home Depot and 1% chevron/texaco that might be decent for MS

how is 1% good for MS at CVS? Thats $5.00 on 1 OV card. Use a 2% card or better still if you have OBC Amex!!

kcihtred2
kcihtred2

1% in addition to your normal spend. with a cashwise it makes it 2.5%. if you can pool that with a signature card it makes it 3.75% towards air fair

SamL

Is it confirmed Cash Wise transfers to the signature card the way you say. (I don’t have signature card yet, but’ll get it next.)

all on Cash Wise which I never use except for low balance cancellation

Is the grocery and gas store bonuses in the same place? I see these CVS, Home Depot and Chevron/Texaco offers under the activate offers tab, but have yet to see the gas and grocery store offers. I have Propel and Signature.

Chris
Chris

My offer is same but gas station again.

Curious which cards people are getting these grocery and gas offers on. I have the Propel and Signature Rewards card (which is not good for spend, but does get me 1.5x towards airfare with my pooled GoFar points), and never see these more general offers not tied to s specific store.

I always get these grocery offers on my Cash Wise Visa Card:

Earn 10% Bonus Cash Rewards on multiple transactions (up to a total of $40 Bonus Cash Rewards)

Millennial Outrage

Got nothing on my sock-drawered Cashwise 🙁

I never got anything since the PfChangs offer. No offer in June and now also nothing. 🙁

I got it on my Propel.

Amy

So did I.

Awesome. Got 15% last month on grocery stores. Now got the 10% grocery stores for this month. Probably targeted because I rarely use my cashwise card nowadays.

Matt
Matt

I wonder how they choose who to target with these… I consistently grabbed the CVS and Kmart offers, but haven’t gotten these recent deals

Got Grocery again ( though last time was 15%). P2 got nothing either time, so no idea what triggers it.

Which card do you have?

Cash wise

I had the same experience as SamL. The card was previously used for $1.99 small balance credit.

This should work fine on 3rd party gift cards at grocery stores, right?

Yes!

Yes. Did it last time and within 3 weeks the bonus rewards posted in my account.

4000 pts posted to my GFR account today from 7/1 purchase at WMNM. Redeemed $50 sent as check.

veeRob

Super confused. I activated the gas offer the same time as grocery. Grocery purchases are awarding 10x and gas is not. And now I do not see the gas offer anywhere. Definitely didn’t dream it as I tracked that I clicked the offer…

Seeing this yet again this month! Keep it coming..

My offer says 10 points on FIRST PURCHASE ONLY. Is anybody else getting this? Still max of 4000 points so they are basically telling me to get a gift card.

5150d
5150d

yes, Says FIRST PURCHASE ONLY. 2 months ago it was 15% back then last month it was 10% back NOW ITS FIRST PURCHASE ONLY. DOC please update your post as this SUCKS!

Just buy $400 worth of gift horse.

At WMNM $62 of groceries and a $338 WMGC to use up later. Easy Peasy.

Harold
Harold

Same with me.

Gerald
Gerald

I think all the offers I’ve used have been first purchase only.

Don
Don

I also got first purchase only – gas – max of 4,000 points (which is impossible for most people on one fill up below unless you can do the gift card thing inside the gas station).

For me, in California sadly, a fill up can run north of $50; so essentially that is a $5 or so value.

You have expiration date as 7/31/19. Please correct.

William Charles

Fixed, thanks

5x on homedepot again.

Be careful my propel’s homedepot offer last month did not trigger after 100 delta GC purchase, maybe its an amex network lock down on gift card purchases.

Aaron
Aaron

call go far rewards after 30 days have gone by. i’ve been doing that because for some odd reason both Home Depot and CVS don’t track for me. i bought gc. they still grant the bonus points, but you need to allow 30 days

kk
kk

mine is only for first purchase this time.

GAS is FIRST purchase only this month.

Perfect, for catching the tailend of the 15 off 2×100 VGC at Safeway, with the rest filled by refilling a grocery gc.

Ah crap, first purchase only
