Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster Class Action Settlement Eligible Events Being Released [Events Now Live]

Ticketmaster settled a case in 2013 (with final approval in 2015) that alleged they charged exorbitant fees. As part of that settlement claimants received ticket vouchers. The problem with those ticket vouchers is that eligible events almost always sell out quickly, especially the more popular events. A new e-mail has been sent out with updated information and more events will be added shortly. Each ticket voucher you have is valid for two general admission tickets. The events aren’t live yet, so I have no idea how good/bad they will be but I suspect in any case they will go quickly. Click here for eligible events page (and scroll down).

Pretty ridiciulous they sent the email and there are no events posted. The email says there are events. This company is so f******

Right? I kept thinking to myself what am I missing or doing wrong. Glad it’s not just me. Ridiculous.

My problem with the vouchers were that you can only get tickets on concerts livenation and not shows on ticketmaster. Most artists listed on live nations are bands or singers I’ve never even heard of. And if the were popular artists, the voucher code wont work on them.

We should now have another class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster for giving us these bogus vouchers that we can’t use! 🙂

I noticed in this case, Ticketmaster is the plaintiff. What’s up with that?

I was thinking the same thing, Ren! Pretty much any event I would want to see on LiveNation comes up with a message that “Schlessinger discount codes or vouchers are not eligible for this event.”

The title of this post is backwards, the lawsuit is “Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster”

I could see if the lawsuit were against livenation….but it was against TicketMaster…the vouchers should be good for any Ticketmaster show (up to a certain amount perhaps)

Did anyone happen to see the eligible event list? It was pretty much blank when I checked.

I’m hoping they have not released any events yet. I received the email at 3 am. I’m guessing they sent the email out early before they released the events to give people more time to be aware of the release later today.

I called them up and asked. I had to fight their impossible phone system to get to a a live person. They said they’d be putting them up soon. Same behavior as last time, sent an email but no tix. I told the guy the summer’s half over, he agreed but only works there. Keep checking the site they next few days would be my advice.

It’s happening now. Events are posted. Hurry!

There are lots of events, surprisingly some decent well known names. Just no one I am interested in burning these vouchers on (nearby). Hopefully I remember to keep checking. My vouchers expire in 2020.

Not much to choose from…again !

Under voucher’s, it says that these expire 2020-06-18 so presumably, they’ll add future events in upcoming summers right?

Not necessarily. Their site repeats this multiple times: “The Settlement Agreement limits the value of vouchers that are to be redeemed in a given year and in total. In 2018, Ticketmaster fulfilled the ticket voucher requirements.”

I think they’re done. What a joke.

Wow. Zero events for New York City. 8.5 million people. That’s ok I’ll just look for Jersey, oh wait, none there either. Thanks you garbage company, and thanks for my 60% convenience fees on my last concert too.

This release was much better than last time for events in my neck of the woods (pa/nj). Super excited to have scored actual seats for Simple Minds (yes I’m old lol) at a small local venue.

I noticed they have been adding new events as previously listed ones sell out. Worth checking back if you didn’t find anything good the first time.

Scored free tix for Jeff Beck in St Louis 7/28. Working on tix for Cubs v Cards @ Busch either the night before or after. Weather forecast looks decent for mid-summer along the Muddy Mississippi. Gotta mount/balance the new tires on the G35 for the roadtrip from Chitown. Good distractions from chaos in DC.

So let me get this right, not only do I not get my money back but ticket master gets to pick what shows i get to use my vouchers at? Unreal! Look at the price of the shows released. Tickets on stub hub are going for $6 dollars in some cases because the market is flooded. I got a pair of tickets and planned on selling. Once worth 40 each are a fraction. Just doesn’t seem right that they only sell at venues owned by live nation / ticket master. My hard earned cash I will never see back from this companies wrong doing. Just is not right. Guess we wait till 2019.

Second class action law suite should be filled.
