Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster Class Action Settlement Eligible Events Being Released [Events Now Live]

Ticketmaster settled a case in 2013 (with final approval in 2015) that alleged they charged exorbitant fees. As part of that settlement claimants received ticket vouchers. The problem with those ticket vouchers is that eligible events almost always sell out quickly, especially the more popular events. A new e-mail has been sent out with updated information and more events will be added shortly. Each ticket voucher you have is valid for two general admission tickets. The events aren’t live yet, so I have no idea how good/bad they will be but I suspect in any case they will go quickly. Click here for eligible events page (and scroll down).

I just got the email yesterday – tickets long gone of course. And you can only use two discount codes per any other tickets. $5 off a $150 ticket. Just another example of a huge corp screwing all of us.

This is what I get, despite pages of voucher:
The eligible event list is now closed and the ticket voucher requirements have been fulfilled. For more information, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions available here.

Please note, discount codes and UPS discount codes can still be used on primary tickets on Ticketmaster.com. Log in to your account to view your discount codes and UPS discount codes and search for events.

I just learned that the Avenged Sevenfold show that was cancelled I do not get the voucher returned. And that is because a supervisor at Ticketmaster has just told me they have met the requirements of the lawsuit completely. I assumed this went on until 2020. So not only are my remaining vouchers are useless but the cancelled show they won’t even credit me anything even when the tickets have a $20 face value. What a joke

I got two tickets to Darius Rucker with one voucher. I have several more vouchers with an expiration date of June 18, 2020. If, as of 2018, “Ticketmaster has fulfilled all ticket voucher allotments that were required pursuant to the Settlement Agreement.” and therefore no more events will be available for use of these ticket vouchers, why were we not informed of this? If the ticket voucher allotments were based on DOLLARS and not NUMBERS, why were we given numbers of tickets and not dollars to use?

They REALLY do need to clarify whether they have fulfilled vouchers for THIS YEAR or FOR GOOD….Why do they fail to elaborate on that!!?? If everyone is left wondering, they should clarify! At least I got 4 tickets out of the deal I guess.

So I assume there was a 5-minute window we could redeem around 3:00 A.M.?

I just went on and the page is updated and Ticketmaster is stating no more vouchers can be redeemed. They state that the settlement agreement limits the value of the vouchers that can be redeemed and they have met the requirements.

Can the vouchers or tickets be resold? Can’t go to any of these concerts.

Buy tickets and go sell on Stubhub or to someone who would want them. You most likely won’t make much since most of these concerts aren’t selling, but it’s better than nothing if you just want to redeem now and now wait for other opportunities within the next two years.

Scored free tix for Jeff Beck in St Louis 7/28. Working on tix for Cubs v Cards @ Busch either the night before or after. Weather forecast looks decent for mid-summer along the Muddy Mississippi. Gotta mount/balance the new tires on the G35 for the roadtrip from Chitown. Good distractions from chaos in DC.

So let me get this right, not only do I not get my money back but ticket master gets to pick what shows i get to use my vouchers at? Unreal! Look at the price of the shows released. Tickets on stub hub are going for $6 dollars in some cases because the market is flooded. I got a pair of tickets and planned on selling. Once worth 40 each are a fraction. Just doesn’t seem right that they only sell at venues owned by live nation / ticket master. My hard earned cash I will never see back from this companies wrong doing. Just is not right. Guess we wait till 2019.

Second class action law suite should be filled.

This release was much better than last time for events in my neck of the woods (pa/nj). Super excited to have scored actual seats for Simple Minds (yes I’m old lol) at a small local venue.

I noticed they have been adding new events as previously listed ones sell out. Worth checking back if you didn’t find anything good the first time.

Wow. Zero events for New York City. 8.5 million people. That’s ok I’ll just look for Jersey, oh wait, none there either. Thanks you garbage company, and thanks for my 60% convenience fees on my last concert too.
