U.S Airways Referral Links Are Still Valid (5,000/10,000 Miles Per Referral)

The U.S Airways credit card from Barclaycard is currently offering a sign up bonus of 50,000 miles after your first purchase. The annual fee of $89 is not waived and these cards will soon be discontinued and converted into the Barclaycard American Airlines Aviator credit cards.

Originally these referral links were due to stop working on January 18th, 2015. It looks like the new end date is now March 12th, 2015. You’ll need to have received an e-mail to be eligible, but if you previous received an e-mail your old links should work fine.

The amount of miles you’ll receive will depend on the e-mail you received, but it will either be 5,000 or 10,000 miles per approved applicant with a cap of 50,000 miles.

Existing US Airways MasterCard Cardmembers will receive five thousand (10,000) bonus miles for each friend who applies for and is approved for a US Airways Premier World MasterCard using the apply link in this email by March 12, 2015. A maximum of fifty thousand (50,000) miles can be earned through this offer. Please allow 8-10 weeks from the promotion end date for bonus miles to post to your account.

People who referred for the last bonus have already reported receiving their sign up bonuses. If you haven’t already signed up for this card, it might be worth trying to cut a deal with somebody who does have a referral link. E.g, they could cover the annual fee for the first year in exchange for you using their link. That way they are able to get miles for less than 1¢ per point and you save $89.

I emailed Barclay Thursday regarding a referral I wanted to provide a friend, and their Friday response to me was the referral offer was dead.

How do you generate the referral link? When I click “Start Sharing” it takes me to a form to send an email to a friend, but doesn’t contain an option to share a referral link. I’ve tried sending an email through the form a few times but the person whom I’m trying to refer never get the referral email…

Did you notice that the wording in the terms and conditions says “five thousand (10,000)”? Mine does too. Any idea which way it gets processed?
