Our Verdict
Competitor BLADE offers $195 flat rate. Previously this service was only available to Uber users with Uber elite status. Personally I’d never pay $200 for a service such as this, but I’m also not insanely wealthy, although I assume a large portion of helicopter rides are also for business purposes as well and the additional cost is worth it. If you’re interested in more Uber promo codes, there are a number of current eats codes available.
Hat tip to Point Me To The Plane
Would this actually save any time? Three transfers …
$200 for a helicopter ride doesn’t actually seem bad at all.. and I’d assume if for business you could probably expense it. Also like, wouldn’t it be cool to take a copter? I might do it once in my life just to see Manhattan from the sky.
Do they include a complimentary condolence card to your family when you crash and burn in some dudes smelly old copter from the 80s?
How can I sign up to be a copter driver?
I wanna know too. I understand they tip very well in NYC…
Need to be certified to fly commercially,as well as supplying your own copter, fuel and commercial insurance. You may qualify for a reimbursement for the usage of the helipads.
btw. Uber might also generously guarantee you a minimal pay of $50 (including tips) for each one way trip;)
Do you have to bring your own copter to fly for Uber?
Not seeing anything near any of the midtown helipads or near JFK.
Do I have to be in a designated area?
Haven’t tried to catch a copter yet, but my understanding is that if you are coming from Manhattan you set your destination as JFK. In addition to UberX, you will see the option to take UberCopter. They will then send UberX to take you to the Manhattan heliport and another UberX to take you to the airport from the heliport near the airport. Works the same way in reverse. I’m excited to try it as I’ve never flown in a helicopter before.
Why is the visual Uber Eats? Will and Chuck, you two need to design an icon for them.
It makes you wonder what they’re doing with those Billions if they can’t hire a graphic designer.
