Earlier today we posted about the fact that Uber Offers (called Visa Local offers) is back and offering 10% back in Uber credit on purchases at select merchants (including Walgreens & Staples). Previously gift card purchases were not excluded and there was no cap on the rebate that can be earned. Unfortunately they have now added a gift card exclusion and you’re limited to a maximum reward of $20 per transaction. You can compare the new & old terms below (old terms via Ez Journeys)

How long would the uber credits take to post? I want to see if my GC purchase at Staples give me anything. So far I still haven’t received anything for my purchase on 9/5. Does that mean it won’t work? Thanks.

This has been very YMMV for me. I got $20 in credit for buying a VGC at Walgreens. I didn’t get it the second time I bought one at Walgreens (same card). I got credit for buying miscellaneous merchandise at Walgreens using a different card. I bought AGCs at Staples today–no credit. I bought an Amazon gift card at Whole Foods–no credit, but I did get the $20 statement credit on the Hyatt card. Curious.
I just made to purchas at whole foods. One a gift card and one groceries. I received the 10% for the groceries but not the gift card. Are they using Level 3?

I just bought a bunch of gift cards, plus some stamps at Staples earlier today. Just now added that Visa card to my Uber account. Will be interested to see if any credit posts due to those purchases.
I just completed a a purchase at Staples including two $200 gift cards and received a $20 credit in the Uber app.

Still 7/31 in HI, Walgreens $500 vgc = $50 credit. Offer ends 7/31 for me. Also, WG all out of variables. Funny how that worked.
