At the end of April Amazon announced that they would be investing $800 million to make one day shipping standard. Walmart has now responded and will begin offering one day delivery on orders of $35+, called ‘NextDay Delivery’. To begin with NextDay delivery will be available to customers in Phoenix and Las Vegas and will expand to Southern California in the coming days. The aim is to be able to roll out NextDay delivery to 75% of the population this year.
Always the follower and never the innovater.
I see Amazon.com branded Sprinter delivery vans everyday in southern Queens making local deliveries to Lauerlton, Cambria Heights and residential areas around JFK Airport. When will they expand delivery routes? My local mailman is untrustworthy. I would rather have Amazon.com truck, than US Mail.
Damn, I’m not happy about Amazon one day shipping — further consolidation of power at Amazon as the value proposition of Prime skyrockets. It’s hard enough to buy anything not on Amazon — unless you break $49 per order shipping isn’t free and then it takes a week anyway. Walmart can try to compete but still, $35 minimum means I’ll always check Amazon first.
I thought the minimum was $25 for Amazon. Am I mistaken? John 3:16
Mistaken, on both counts
Phoenix. Not pheonix.
75% of the popular this year ?
Thanks, fixing now
You guys should add a button on your site so that users can quietly alert you about mistakes, so that it’s not mixed in with public comments.
You can email us at [email protected] and [email protected], but honestly I don’t really mind getting pointers or fixing typos based off the comments.
Same, comments are fine =)
