Looks dead. Just tried both codes, neither worked for me.

If you think Whole Foods is overpriced, you’d have an aneurysm at the other super markets near me in Seattle – PNC, Metro, etc. At least Whole Foods has 365 items pretty cheap and good quality. Either way, they’re the only realiable way to get groceries when you’re in months long quarantine with a pregnant wife.

I think you mean PCC.
Btw Safeway delivers in Seattle for free if you choose a 4 hour delivery window which it seems you would have if you’re home in quarantine.
You just need to choose delivery directly from Safeway not Instacart. Additional benefit is you pay the instore prices with sales prices and deals automatically added.

Like you I have found Whole Foods overpriced reputation overblown. (especially in a place like Seattle where everything is expensive) The items that are expensive are the fully organic items. Even the 365 brand has organic and non organic at a cheaper price. Also if you’re an Amazon Prime member the discounts pretty much cover the price of membership many times over.

Yeah it’s generally not the case that WF is overpriced, it’s that they offer super premium versions of items that cost more.

If you want chicken living in such an enriched environment it earned a GED or freshly squeezed unicorn tears it’s going to cost a chunk of change.

Is this first time only? I used it last week but would use it again if possible…

Do you mean the code or the service? If you have used the service before, you can use the code. However, the code is one-time use only.

for some items like rice, you do save more than $10 if you compare the exact same brand and package else where to purchase. also not a fan of open goods for everyone to scope and touch especially during current COVID situation

I’ve wanting to ask – why does WF online only charge me a minimal sales tax vs the ~11% that local grocery stores usually charge?

Most groceries are not taxed.

That really depends on the state and the items being purchased.

Really, @Chicago, I pay around 11% taxes in all local grocery stores, but pretty much nothing from WF online.

Seems odd that identical items would be taxable in a store and not taxed when buying online. Are you sure you’re being charged sales tax on all the items in store?

I have done over 15+ Wholefoods deliveries (free for Prime members) during the pandemic and I can tell you that not everything in the store is overpriced.

In fact, I find myself spending less because I search for exactly what I am looking for (Prime deals are great!) and don’t get drawn in by looking at other items I don’t need when shopping in person.

And if you care about the quality of the food, it much better too!

Overpriced vs 10% instacart markup.

I’ve used whole food pick-up. Check in before leaving to the store and 2 out of 4 trips I’ve seen the person waiting for me when I arrive. No mark-up I’ve notcied.

They probably won my business for pickup even after Covid.

I have a $10 off $50 offer, but it’s for first purchases. the code that appears on the ad for me is the save10wf code. iirc, they normally offer $20 off for 1st time purchases.

A lot of things are overpriced while others are good value (if you want to eat healthy/organic). Definitely need to be careful though
