In April Wyndham announced status extensions until December 31st, 2021, free status for everyday heroes and a number of other positive changes due to COVID-19. They also announced that the requirements for earning elite status for 2020 would be lowered but didn’t provide any details. Today Wyndham has announced what those lower requirements are:
- Gold status: 3 qualifying nights (normally 5)
- Platinum: 9 qualifying nights (normally 15)
- Diamond: 24 qualifying nights (normally 40)
Wyndham is currently offering a bonus of 2,000 points per stay.
Wyndham status is basically worthless in my experience. Never noticed any benefits even with diamond. Late check-out was frowned upon.
