[YMMV] Blue Business Plus 20,000 Point Offer

The Offer

Direct link to offer (have to log in, if after you log in it says this offer is no longer available that means you’re not eligible)

  • American Express is offering a sign up bonus of 20,000 points after $5,000 in spend within the first three months of card ownership.
  • 0% APR for 15 months on purchases as well

Card Details

  • Application must be received by 8/25/2017
  • 2x Membership Rewards points on all purchases for the first $50,000 per calendar year
  • 1x Membership Rewards points on all other purchases
  • No annual fee

Our Verdict

Sign up bonus has previously been 20,000 points after $3,000 in spend. In saying that I wouldn’t expect a sign up bonus higher than 20,000 points to be offered due to the 2x points earning capability (one of the best cards for every day spend) so if you’re targeted then I would recommend applying if you can meet the minimum spend and can take advantage of the 2x points on offer. Shame this is targeted/YMMV otherwise I would add it to our best credit card offers page. As always before applying or asking basic questions in the comments read our guide on American Express credit cards here and the F.A.Q on Blue Business Plus here.

I was approved last time you posted with the 3K spend.
Got the 20K bonus last week, Ty William.

(I find Amex MR points to be very useful to transfer to Hawaiian airlines and sometimes they offer 25% extra points.
You get a “non-stop” roundtrip flight from NY to Hawaii for 40,000 hawaiian miles (sometimes 32 MR points to transfer) all the other redemptions like AA Delta United have layovers, the cheapest cash nonstop round trip from NY to Hawaii is $800 in Jan/Feb that gives 32 UR points a minimum of 2.5 cents per point).

I have had this offer for a while. It’s in the Amex offers when I log into my Business Blue account, it looks like a pre-approval because it says my interest rate will be 12.24% (last month it said 11.99%). But when I click on it it says this offer is no longer available. But it says that the offer is good until August 25, 2017. What gives? I haven’t called Amex yet.

What happens if you don’t have an AmEx login? Don’t have an active AMEX card right now.

CM

Based on the comments of just about everyone, if you don’t have an AmEx login, you’ll never know that you were ineligible for the offer anyways.

Data points: those who see the offer – do you already have an Amex Business card?

Is this confirmed that for the bonus, this is considered a different product than the old Amex Business Blue? I applied previously to the Business Blue Plus when the there was the initial 20k offer but went pending and when I called in, the rep told me that I would not get the bonus since I already had the Business Blue. They ultimately denied me for having too many cards so not sure if the rep was misinformed or I can’t get the bonus anyway. I am targeted this time so may try again.

Never mind… wasn’t targeted…. wasn’t paying attention that I needed to be logged in.

I don’t find any amex offers in my account. I guess they want to really keep this card expenses to be at near zero.

Flame, I don’t think that’s really true. From everything I’ve read I really think it’s just a technical issue. Just be patient and you will get offers, you’ll see! The old blue for business card was an even better deal at 2.3x points per dollar and that had and still has plenty of Amex offers.
