Our Verdict

We saw a recent deal from Discover recently as well. How useful this deal is will really depend on how competitive BP is priced in your area.

Expires 10/31/21… or whenever Citi decides to make the offer disappear from your account.

Be sure to check that the offer is still there just before you try to use it—and take screenshots..

Does it actually disappear, or do they just make it hard to find? Their offer website is really the worst of any of the banks that do this. And I still cannot figure out why the entire program is not available for my wife’s Rewards+ card while I have it on mine.

The offer actually disappears. It stops showing up in the “Enrolled” section and in the list showing all offers (enrolled or not, with all categories/sections expanded).

Also, in those situations, when I chatted with Citi to check whether the offer was still on my account, they said it was not, and they couldn’t say whether it ever was on the account or why it stopped appearing.

A similar but different case is where the offer disappeared only after I used it. In that case, a customer service rep also couldn’t find the offer on my account but manually credited me the reward amount as a courtesy. I then ended up receiving the actual offer credit several weeks later as well.

I have glossed over the difficulty with most Citi reps not even knowing what Merchant Offers is or what I’m asking them to check.

looks like similar offer as AMEX. however, too bad there is no BP gas in west coast or southern CA.

No Amoco stations, ither? It works at both stations. I do not get these offers on my Amex cards anymore since I redeemed it.

How do you get to merchant offers directly from your citibank login? I haven’t found a way to get there other than clicking on the link above.

Rewards & Benefits > Offers for You. Select a card that would have offers. Click on the View Offer button that appears below “Save with your Citi® card
Citi® Merchant Offers is a program designed to help you save on shopping, dining and more when you use your Citi® card.”

I enrolled in the offer on my Citi card a few weeks ago, but now I see that it has disappeared (it was supposed to expire on 8/31). Good thing I checked just before trying to use it. I know all too well what is possible with Citi.

Exactly same thing happened to me. Unfortunately I had already used it. Even Expedia one disappeared. Just going to wait and see if credit posts

Got this offer in the Amex Blue accounts for me and my wife. The BPme app finally worked for us this time. Bought $30 of fuel at an Amoco station on 7/17/21. On 7/19/21 got email from Amex “Great news! You recently used your Amex Offer at BP”. Signed up a BPme account for my wife using code SAVINGS1 at registration. On 7/18/21 bought $25 of fuel at same station. About 30 minutes later got a “55c off per gallon” reward in the app for the next fill-up. She also got the “Great News” email from Amex on 7/19/21.

Anyone can tell me why I keep getting:
“Error: We are having trouble loading your offers. Please try again later.”

The American SimplyMiles program also has 450 miles for $20 spent using the BPme app. Probably should stack with the Citi deal.
