Citi has started sending out targeted spending bonuses through July 31st, 2019. Offers must be activated and they have been sent out via e-mail. It looks like offers haven’t gone out on most cards yet, but here are some of the offers we’ve seen.

On my ThankYou Preferred statement a couple days ago, I got a $1.30 statement credit (not points) labeled Merchant Spend Bonus. I guess it’s 10% of an Amazon/woot $12.99 purchase, but I wasn’t aware of any bonus for that. (I did activate a 10x points offer, and got the 9x bonus points on this and other purchases, but that seems unrelated). Anyone know what this is?
I got a similar offer from Chase AARP:

(I had an offer like this from Chase Amazon earlier this year so I paid ahead most of those bills. At least I have a new insurance payment I can use this new offer on.)

I guess I spent too much at CVS the last time they gave me a promo. Bummer home improvement overlaps with Chase Freedom quarters. I don’t have any planned spend in the other three categories but maybe something will come up.
I got an offer for 10x points on Preferred, up to 2500 points.
It says it excludes dining & entertainment (the categories that are 2x).
The terms say it’s an additional 9 points per $1, and it sounds like the 2500 limit is on the additional 9 points, so I think the purchase limit is $277.78 rather than $250.
This is the same offer I got. Not sure about the $277.77 though??
My statement seems to confirm that the bonus is on $277.xx of spending, not just $250; I spent over $260 and got 9x bonus points on the full amount, not on just $250.
Received this same offer in the mail last week on my Preferred (end date 9/30/19). Does this mean the promo works on any spend BESIDES dining and entertainment?
The specific language on my letter: “eligible purchases like: Shopping, Groceries, Gas, Travel and more! Offer excludes dining and entertainment purchases earning double ThankYou Points.”
Yes, it should work on anything else.
