Citi has started sending out targeted spending bonuses through May 31st, 2019. Offers must be activated and they have been sent out via e-mail. You can use this enrollment link to sign up (need to already be signed into your Citi account). Offers are as follows:

Does Citi usually target those with low spending on their cards? As in those who sockdrawer them, so that it can encourage spending?
It could be. I have had two Citi TYP cards in recent years, and it’s always the low-spend one that gets these offers, never the other one which I use fairly often. But then again, the one that I use for higher spend I’ve gotten retention offers, while the ones that I get these offers on is a no-AF card on which I haven’t tried for retention offers. So that might another factor perhaps?

These are targeted offers. Someone with card A may get one offer, someone else with card A may get another offer, and yet other people with card A may get no offer at all. I got no offer on my Premier card, yet other people did. I did get an offer on my ancient AT&T Universal card which was the same as someone above got on their Simplicity cards.
Only a teeny fraction of users of any particular card are visiting this site to report what they got, and not everyone with a given card gets an offer. So the reports here are by definition going to be incomplete.
But again, these are targeted offers, and the posts here are just alerts. You actually have to check your email and/or snail mail to see what offers YOU got.

There was always a risk that wasn’t going to work, I’d just wait and see what actually ends up happening. Calling in is never a good idea
i understand not to call but i dont understand what do you mean wait spend 5 or 10 k to get 50 thousand plus 40 thousand respectively or spend 2k and wait if you receive 40 thousand and if not then proceed to spend the other 3k ? please be clear i know you noted specifaclly “do this at your own risk just when you respond sometimes you are not clear

I got spend 300 dollars every month for 3 months and get 3000 extra aa miles.

If you got the offer, read your T&Cs. These are targeted offers, and not everyone with the same card gets the same offers or even an offer at all.
These posts are to alert you to something you may skipped over or deleted accidentally. But you have to find what you deleted (if you deleted it accidentally), because you cannot use what someone else got.
