Our Verdict
HEB sells $500 Vanilla Visa’s so you can choose those if you want to rack up more spend. Any way you slice it this is a really sweet deal, and it’s the grocery where many people have card multipliers.
Reader Luke reported on this one. In their case, the coupon was triggered by an ordinary grocery purchase of $50+. Not clear whether any purchase will trigger it, whether a gift card purchase will trigger, whether it’s random, etc. In any case, keep an eye out on your receipts.
Hat tip to reader Luke
Got the coupon at self check-out for normal $20 worth of grocery purchases; I did scan my HEB digital coupons account.
I got the $10 off $50 coupon. I rarely look at those coupons. Just happened not to crumple it up and throw it away. I was buying a gift card and groceries.
I’m at H-E-B like 5x a day for work and have never gotten one of these. Wonder if I should start using the full-service checkout lanes rather than self-checkout!
I went to HEB today and purchased a few jugs of water. The cashier handed me the receipt with a coupon like this but I didn’t pay attention to it. It is past midnight and the coupon is in the car. Debating whether I should check it out now or patiently wait till the morning.
And then the struggle to unload it begins 🙂 unless you’re in a town where HEBs aren’t nazis about MS.
