Does anyone know what happens if you use your promo code and then cancel your flight? Do you then lose this code or is it valid to use again?

Had a family death and am trying to take advantage of cheaper flights if I guess the right date for the service but it hasn’t been set yet. don’t want to waste my 20% off though because I’ll likely be wrong and have to change it and then will really want the 20% off!

I would be happy to trade one code with an Alaska companion ticket code if anyone has a spare SW code …

I have an active SW personal and a SW biz card. Got 2 codes for 20% off, expires 1/11/2025. Must use for flights within 14 days of booking date, per T+C’s. This may actually come in handy for some last-minute flights in April-May 2024 time frame that I don’t know my exact schedule for yet (placeholder flights already booked in anticipation of likely dates, of course!).

Could always rebook a flight if the price remains stable.

My code expires 1/13/25. I signed up for my SW card early in December so this is one year from some point in my second statement cycle.

P2 just cancelled their SW card a month ago. Only has 1 coupon that expires 2/10/24.

Based on this being linked to SW cards, I wonder if we could have gotten a second coupon if we let the annual fee get charged, then asked for a refund. I.e. like double dipping, if you can get the next year of “benefits.” then still not pay the annual fee. (We try to cancel cards before the annual fee hits to make sure we don’t forget and to avoid extra hassle.)

Can this be used on somebody else’s RR account, using their points to book the flight? Could be useful to offer to people that happen to tell me they are taking a last minute flight with points.

T&C doesn’t seem to prohibit it, but wondering if anybody has a DP from the ones during 2023. I still have 2 of those and 1 new one for this year.

Never used them since I don’t ever book only 14 days out and rarely need to do last minute changes.

Start the process of booking an account and see if it will allow you to use the code. It should tell you if it’s valid or not. Just don’t go through whith the booking.

When I click on that Direct Link to Offer, I get: There is no Promo Code associated with your account.

I have two SW Visa cards from Chase. I’m a paid up, loyal good SW customer. 🙂

You should sign in on web first then click this link. If you have 2 SW CCs, it seems you should have two of these codes based on other comments as well as my experience.

Or sign in, go to account, then “My Promo Codes”

I have one expiring in Feb 2024 and one expiring Jan 2025. Both need to fly within 14 days of booking. 🙁

I had this last year and this year but they both require flying within 14 days of booking. It’s really discount for an unplanned trip when prices are high.

I’ve got 3 on my account and 4 on P2s account. We do have that many SW cards currently open.

Yes, it looks like it is based on the number of SW cards. I have 2 and got 2 codes.
The 14 day restriction limits the use though 🙁

Pat S , would be interested to hear why you keep that many SWA cards open?

Great question! I get a lot of referrals from various people (u/cakepops1980). We typically use the upgraded boardings which are pretty valuable for families that want to sit together and don’t have A-list. The almost 30k and 40k anniversary points each year usually give us companion pass (and Chase has been known to provide an offset to the AF), along with another sub. Using the business cards $500 transfer points credit net the card another 1.5k-2k, and I typically upgrade / downgrade each card once a year after AF, which also means another 1.5k-2k (from the transferring of points). Therefore, each of us net almost another 10k in points transferring points from p1-p2 or vice versa. I do my best to make sure all the cards are with the elevated card before the anniversary points post if I need the points.

All that said, I wouldn’t recommend doing it.
