Our Verdict

60k bonus was due to expire at the end of December, but it looks like it was extended. Personally I don’t value Hilton points at 0.5¢ a piece so I prefer the $50 statement credit offer. Both of these offers are as high as I’ve seen these bonuses

Just applied for the 50k points and $50 card on Hilton’s site while reserving a room. Got the following message and I’m not sure if it was unique to me or if their system is partially down today. I wanted to pass this along for others to see if they can get this additional bonus.

“You have been approved for a Hilton HHonorsTM Card from American Express and you will receive your new Card in the mail in 1-3 business days.
Since you were unable to use your temporary credit limit, we will be awarding you $85 in the form of a statement credit. You will receive this statement credit within 8-12 weeks on your Card.”

+1. I have met all my Amex Minimum bonus through loading of Serve (And Shut Down also).

What’s the criteria for shutting down? My serve is still active and I have the option of loading from Amex CC. Will they shut it down if I load from Amex CC?

Can I apply for this card if I already had 4 amex cards?

If you have 4 Amex Credit Card, then no. Do not count the Charge Cards (PRG, Platinum etc) in the mix.

I do have the Premier Rewards Gold. Is there any reason to not count it?

The reason is Amex doesn’t count it. You can have a max of 4 credit cards, and an unlimited number of charge cards.

Any data points of the $50 SC disqualifying you for the $60 SC temp credit limit apology?
