Bed Bath & Beyond sells some third party gift cards such as restaurant gift cards, but no gas gift cards. They also have Visa/MC/Amex gift cards in $25, $50 and $100 denominations. And they obviously have BBB gift cards which you can purchase and use for later. It has already been confirmed that purchasing a physical BBB gift card online does trigger the statement credit. This is indicated in the Terms & Conditions as well.
The $25 Visa gift cards are pretty useless because the activation fee will eat up most of the profit, but you may be able to convince a BBB cashier to split a $100 Visa gift card between four AmEx cards which would be very worthwhile.
A better idea would be to buy $25 BBB gift cards in-store or online with each registered AmEx card and then use three $25 BBB gift cards to buy a $100 Visa gift card; pay the balance with a fourth registered AmEx card, and you’ve effectively bought a $100 Visa gift card for $85.95. According to one report the BBB system allows purchasing a Visa gift card with a BBB gift card; so as long as the cashier doesn’t make any problems this will work. If it doesn’t, you can sell it to a gift card reseller for a slight profit.

Our Verdict
I’ve been meaning to try out buying a Visa gift card at BBB with a BBB gift card for a while, so this is a good time to try it out. To start with, I’ll order 3 $25 BBB gift cards online, and I’ll try buying a $100 Visa gift card with the 3 gift cards and paying the balance with a fourth AmEx card. There is some hassel involve here, but if the first round works, I’ll probably do some more with some additional AmEx cards.
I’ll also try going through a shopping portal to get an additional 5-6% back, though it probably won’t work.
